The Midwest Series got off to a good start in Cincinnati. The Tri-State club did a wonderful job of hosting the first race of the year. They ordered in great weather (and got it) and set a MWS attendance record at 113. There was a lot of competitive racing in all 3 classes. The next stop on the MWS tour is in Toledo Ohio on June 3-4 at the famous “One-Eighth Racers” track. This is another MWS race you won’t want to miss. The Toledo track is the home of the “Grate Lakes Challenge” race that is now one of the premier races in the USA. The MWS race is a great chance to check out the Toledo track in preparation for this huge event to be held in the beginning of August. The MWS and all it’s racers would like to thank it’s many sponsors this year. For a full race report, point standings and all the information needed to attend a MWS race check out our website at www.midwestseries.com. Also be sure to pre-register while checking out the site. It really helps the host club with sign ups. With the many sponsors we have this year and the ability to do some EXTRA things, you never know when pre-registration might PAY off.
See you in Toledo

The electric club in Toledo will be using the track on Sat. afternoon for their club race. They should be done by 5PM and you can practice for a few hours after that. The whole track will be sprayed.

Hello Mr.Hammer,
I have acouple of questions regarding the track in toledo. I will be attending the GLC and wanted to know what is used for traction compound, how good is the traction normally for that event, Dimensions of the layout and if possible what shore is commonly used for touring and if there is going to be Parts, tires, etc. available trackside.

Thank you

The Toledo MWS race is fast approaching. Please go to www.midwestseries.com and pre-register. Remember, as I said earlier, pre-registration can (and will for someone) PAY.

The Toledo track uses a mixture of Meth., Castor Oil and Mt. Dew Syrup for it's traction compound. If works pretty well, the traction is in the medium high to high area. The car is pretty balanced with both ends having equal traction.

Track size is 110' by 230' and the driving line is either 940 to 904 ft.

Most Sedan racers I know will run a 40 front and 42 rear. Starting somewhere around 56 to 59mm in Diameter. It is really up to your driving style. You should not need anything any less than a 40.

We have asked Mr. Cyrul, if he would like to set up shop and have parts available at the GLC race. This is the plan right now.

Mr. Unger.

I have pre-registered for the Toldeo round of the midwest series. I registered as Mark Guebert in 1/10. I need to change that to 1/8 with a pt of 9169071. Should I just register again? Or can you change my registration with the info above. Also I have since received my roar number (renewed in Cinci) and it is 8-90892 expires 5/6/07
