Last chance to pre-register for the Racine race. All pre-registrations need to be in by 8:00am Friday morning. The weekend weather is looking perfect for racing. Low 70’s and DRY.

Looks like it's going to be a battle between ira and dan for the TQ in the sedan this weekend. Too bad B Berry and B. Flack won't be there to make things A little more interesting.

Was that really washed out...? In Chicago, only rain till 11am.....I was hoping Racine can skip the 4h qaulifier and just run the shorter main......was that the case?

The club did a good job of drying off the track from the morning rains. The sky's looked favorable, Mark took a vote during the drivers meeting and the majority wanted to run the 4th qual. & 20 minute mains. I voyed for the 4th thinking the grip would be different but to my suprise it was the same as saterday. But 1 minute into the second main the rain started again (heavy). Didnt let up until 4:00pm.

We woke to heavy rain Sun. AM. After the track was dryed out, the votes were cast. The choice was between going straight into the 30 min mains or running the 4th Q with shortened mains. The vote went for the 4th Q. It was the best choice under the circumstances; high tire wear (big handling change in 30 minutes) and threat of more rain. Had we went right into the 1/2 hr mains it is unlikely we would have finished even the 1/8 mains, certainly none of the other classes would have gotten in a main. The way it was, everyone got another q run. Best way to go, under the circumstances.
Not sure about the other classes, but for 1/8 we were scrambling for steering! I changed so many things on my set-up, to get steering... I was amaized that the car never pick-up oversteer!
Which makes Hammers performance even more remarkable! Paul C was TQ with the only 25 lap run! Ted shows up on Sunday morning & cracks off a 25 lapper to qualify 2nd! Great job Ted! (had to be cheating)

Default Racine Midwest Series Race

Racer's

On behalf of the Racine Radio Car Club, I would like to thank all who came to run the Midwest Series race this last weekend. The turnout was great and the racing was excellent. We're sorry Mother Nature didn't cooperate, but it was fun while it lasted. Thanks also to Mark Unger for leading the MWS charge and keeping the racing fair and fun. On to Chicago!

I had a good time racing and meeting many of the midwest series racers. I was also suprised at the overwhelming positive response I received on the pictures of our new facility in St. Louis. Myself and the others that run Evolution Raceway are very enthuastic about our facility and would very much like to host a MWS event in the future. St. Louis has a long history with the MWS series and I think it would be great if we could be a part of MWS future plans.

BTW, if any of you are interested in tons of pics check out our website at

Evolution Raceway.....very nice facility! The Midwest Series used to have races in the older days in St Louis. It would be nice to get back there and bring the MWS back to the St Louis area.
