Your best bet would be to look through the for sale and trade forums and also check ebay for a nice used one. This should let you find a package deal with everything you need. The best cars out right now in my opinion are the Mugen and Kyosho cars. Some will add Serpent, but I have seen a lot of people struggle with them. If you are looking for a sedan, look into the MTX-3 or MTX-4 and also the V One RRR. If you are looking to get an 8th scale, look into the MRX-3 and MRX-4 and the Evolva. With your budget, you will probably be sticking to sedan. It is quite a bit cheaper to get into. Good luck and most of all, have fun.

just looking on the buy and sell forum and found a couple of mtx4s for sale with engine pipe etc, for half your budget, you could get starter box etc with money saved, they're worth a look, great cars, top 4 maker!!! good luck what ever you decide

Yup, the deals are out there, you just have to find them. The 4 is a great car!

Seriouslly, if you are new start with an HPI, AE, or base Tamiya/Kyosho first. With the MTX-4, V-One-RRR, 710, etc. your $700 will turn into $1500 very quickly. Set-up boards, tools, foam tires, not to mention the FRUSTRATION of setting it up. With a base car you can learn the basics (tuning, tires, etc.) then focus on the settings later.

If you have experience in nitro but going into 1/10 onroad gas, then get what you can afford. Serpent is probably going to come out will a new car or evolution here soon.

Get the hottest car around. Already winning everything in England and Europe.

G4S my friend.... Put in a top engine and out of the box you got a fast car. Don't need to spend all the extra big bucks for upgrades like on the rest of them so you are equally competitive.

Just look this car over before you buy!

Default SEDAN

Go for a new kit and build it from there, nothing is better than a new kit your best bet is a Kyosho V ONE RRR WCE it comes with almost all the hop ups MTX 4 is equally a good car but you get more bang with your bucks with a KYOSHO V ONE RRR

Be rational, Start out with something durable, easy to drive and easy to get parts for.

Personally I'd say start with an NTC3 and just learn about driving, wreching and the hobby in general. If you decide to get more involved in racing, go ahead and then get the Mugen or the Kyosho.

for me , all the car was the same. if you found the right set up with your driving style..and the most important was. that you can easily find the sparepart in your LHS.....
if you want to learn how to set up , or how to drive.. try. 710 or G4S..
for me G4S is the easiest to set up , because the set up from out of the box is good enough for me.. just make a little adjustment with your driving style
good luck. n happy racing

I agree. For a newbie, V1RRR is very difficult to put together. Get some easier to maintain, less tunable, and more durable.
