I emailed them to find out if they have a US or Japanese distributor or dealer. I'll let you know what they say. No matter what, I'm probably going to get one. It's only $13.00. Maybe I'll become the US distributor.

Too funny. I just ordered it. It will be here next week. After this Sunday's race, I will be completely rebuilding my car from the ground up to create the Ultimate Edition + X! Talk about performance anxiety for the following race!

Where I use to work, one of the department heads gave me the nickname "Mad Scientist". How appropriate! This guy had a nickname for everyone and introduced people by their nickname, followed by their real name. He even used people's nicknames when talking to upper management.

BTW.. It's 4:06 AM here. I've been up since about 2AM. I never work on my car this early in the morning.

"Mad Scientist" seems about right.

Well it's 10:25 am here and I'm working... yeah right. I should be at home working on my car. I have a lot to do and not much time to get it done. I picked up my Shimo chassis last night... nice. Looks like a late night tonight.

This is one upgrade we won't be seeing on the RRR:

I have working on my RRR since January. I have not actually raced it as yet, but hope to start this weekend. The idea was to take my time and build the UE.

Now don't get the wrong, the car has some track time, but never raced it as yet. I have been waiting on some of my rivals at the track who think they will put the RRR to shame with the Serpent 710. I am the better driver, but wait to see how good the Serpent will make them look.

I have purchased several upgrades for my over the months as I work on improving the overall performance.

These include:

K-Factory

Rear Shock Brace (4mm)
Special Rear Bottom Mount
Vented Disc Brake
Brake Pads
1st & 2nd Gears
Front Spool
Hardened Steel Hinge Pins
Front Bumper Brace
Front Carbon Shock Tower
Low Spring Cups

I also purchased the 2mm offset shafts for the rear; I think (VSW007) can't remember for sure. These also gave me more bite in the outtakes. I then took the original rear shafts and placed them in front. This also sent the shafts more into the outtakes for better bite. I am currently running the Kyosho 1.8mm rear sway bar. (Stock 2mm)

I purchased an OS TZ 5P with a TOP tune pipe and header when I first got the car back in Dec. I recently changed to the Vantage Carbon Fiber pipe and header.

Small improvements are Aluminum wheel nuts and optional KYO blue foam bumper.

I currently use Byron 25%. I was very surprised how cool the engine runs on this fuel.

Anyway, at this point I am most interested in setup specs.

It would be nice if some of you guys can post what setups worked best for you. Now, I know this has alot to do with driving style, but I am sure someone of you guys setup will be perfect for me. The Serpentís are out for me this weekend and I need to be prepared.

Just FYI, I have found that setups with 0 front toe or a little neg works best for me. It's a short track with lots of slow and go driving. I also have my car set that, with the throttle in neutral, slight brake is applied. I find this helps stabilize the car through the turns once I am off power.

Any setups I could try?

Are you running the spool in the front? I have a track that sounds similar to yours and I am going to try the spool so I have brakes. How is the traction?

I basically use the stock setup but I have been experimenting. Some of the things I have done are: black springs in the rear, lay the rear shocks down 1 or 2 holes, 10K oil in the rear diff, turn front sway bar up 45 degrees. What I am trying to do with these changes is increase rear traction. The front of the car turns so good that the rear has difficulty keeping up.

Yes, I just went to the front spool about a month ago. It provides much better control of the vehicle, especially for tight tracks. I was concerned that this would have increase under steer, but I was surprised it did not. The lock-up I think is the best option. (IMO)

You could also try a softer rear stay bar.
