Wink

We have rules for ARCA 1/8th oval, but we may have to make some NEW ones up.

Until now, ARCA 1/8th oval has been 1/8th 2WD cars with NASCAR-ARCA bodies. No wedge or Lola. You could open the front and rear windows.
Max. rear spoiler was 2" and NO side dams were allowed. .21 engines and 5.25 lbs weight. We followed ROAR rules for car widths, lengths and tire specs.

This formula gave some of the most entertaining 5 minutes of RC racing anywhere. But times have change and some racers are finding it hard to get the parts needed for the 2WD part. At the Cincy Midwest Series race on May 6th, we will take a poll and find out how many cars will be available for this years action.

If the car count is to low, we will either make the change from 2wd to 4wd 1/8th and put up a higher fence at the end of the straight way or a couple of people have suggested 1/10th Sedan oval.

We should have things worked out by the middle of May. Either way, Oval practice will be for about 20 minutes on Thursday evening and then the Main Event will be scheduled for Sat. night after on-road qualifing is completed.
That schedule should give every one that needs it, two days to put their cars back together after the Thursday practice.

if you got to 10th scale 4wd with .12 3 port engines, nascar body with rear spoiler, and open tire choice. I'd be interested in that.

Default Great lakes Oval

The Oval is one awesome race to watch from a distance that is . Everyone has a good time from racing to watching the Oval race.
Specators should bring Binoculars so they can stay at least 1500 feet away from the track. Hard hats, Protective clothing like a Knight in shining armour would wear, Earplugs when you hear the sonic boom from the car launching into the atmosphere from a crash... ...... Oh and you need a protective cup, might even get one for the ladies. I have seen cars go through a fence over a fence and that was in warm up. So I am thinking that Knight suit will not be enough protection.

The Toledo crew puts on one Heellavua race anyone who signs up will not be disappointed. The Great lakes Challenge has plenty of door prizes from the Manufactures and the racing is intense.

Ted I hope you and your crew have another great season of racing and good luck in the midwest series as well.

Kelly, I was thinking I might go out to the track a couple days earily and make a concrete bunker at the end of the oval back stretch. I think that might be strong enough, but then if Trunk is out there, maybe not.

GrandeGixxer, how tall can you gear it? That might be enough When I ran a MTX-3 I had the tallest gears on it I could find for 2nd. I don't remember the tiresize though. I'll try to remember tonight to see if I have my old setup sheets for the tire size and gearing, that might help you out since I don't know what changed with the 4.

I might try to put an MTX-3 clutch bell and pinions on it. They are about 4-5 teeth more I believe. I don't remember what the 3 had on it either. Thanks though Kropy.
