Default Help and Info for Centax Clutch into RS4 3

Help and Info for Centax Clutch into RS4 3

Hello,

I have read in other threads that people are putting R40 centax clutches into the RS4 3's? Could anyone give me info on this such as part numbers, modifications, rough pricing and if anyone has pictures of how its done or what it looks like it would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Brett

I was thinking of putting a centax clutch in my RS4 3 EVO too. I found this one at RCboyz for a pretty good price but I havent figured out if it will work with the evo RTR, It says its for an RS4 3. Check it out here.

Well I read the description a little more and it requires different mounts and an engine with an SG shaft. The stock engine in the RS4 3 evo is threaded so it wont work unless you get a SG shaft engine and new motor mounts. Oh well.

Default Centax

Be sure you really want one - they are a pain to fiddle with.
And change your whole gearing inventory.

Once properly adjusted - they are fine, but stock clutches
are fine unless you have major HP

I've used the hot bodies Centex clutch with my Rex rer .12 engine (sg shaft) with the required engine mounts. I found that it works great at our local track, with high grip. You have more control as to when the clutch enganges, especially if you're using a race engine. But if you are running your car on parking lots, I think the two-shoe racing clutch is good enough.

Has anyone here changed there 2 speed clutch?
I have found that they aren't very reliable as far as when the gear change happens during racing.
