Default Revelation gets 2003 sedan nats

I see that revelation in CA is getting the '03 nats. I thought it would be cool to start a thread early on running at revelation for those in other parts of the country that may be interested in coming that have never seen the track.

Can the revelation racers give some input on the track?

Grip level?

Size/Width?

Foams that work?

Setups that work?

Walkthrough of racing line?

Also does anyone know of or know a way to get an aerial shot that shows the track design?

www.revrace.com has some basic info. the track layout depicted isn't current but you can get the feel for the size and the way the track is setup. When is the Sedan Nats?

The track in the pics is what I ran on there like a week ago or so. . .

Grip is high. In August it should be even higher - no rain to keep washing all the nice rubber off. . .

Track is 100x200 with a 165'+ straightway

I run 45f/40r or 45/42. Plenty of grippage! I've run TRC, Jaco, ZAK and some brand that I can NEVER remember that Dana sells at the track for $13/pr - all of them work great, even (especially?) the $13 foams.

Setups - I run a pretty basic NTC3 Foam setup. I will look at it later - can't remember off top of my head

Drivethrough - Looong back straight to R-sweeper (blip just before turn in to check speed) around sweeper to R-hairpin. You can pitch the car around there pretty easily and back up to a L-180deg carousel (med speed) to a R-kinda-hairpin that hosts the S/F line.
Come off that turn to a 90deg L to a moderate chicane - you can ALMOST take it straight - if you bump the berms right it works. . .wrong and it DOESN"T. After the chicane is a L-180 deg carousel to a short chute to a R-hairpin. Hard on the throttle through a short 50' chute to a long R-sweeper onto the back straight again.

Video you can check out (it's Pro10, but gets you an idea - track was real green and was real early and "dewey")

www.malsed.com/video/RCRev-256.wmv - you'll prolly need to R-click on the link to save the video locally. It's about 5.5 megs.

I think I'll try to get to this one

I slid into crystal park a couple months ago, no one but a few guys knew me so it was very interesting talking to the racers there.

Hey Boomer it's Tennessee
Just wanted to know if Dana Changed the track back to the old layout?

Oh by the way those $13 tires he sells are the UFRA brand better yet they're elligi foam on serpent yellow rims.

I think that Parris buys them in bulk with out packaging and puts them in they're own bags for resale.

Im not from that area and never went to the track, but I know 2 guys thst used to race there. It might be the Ranch Pit Shop track, no it's not there anymore. They actually made off-road before it closed.

Thanks,

Steven Muller

I'll see what I can do. If I can't send you that one, I will send you a somewhat shorter one. . .depends on what my email server will allow through. . .

It's a fun track. It's not so technical that you can't focus on really trying to tighten things up a ton. . .you know?

Anyways, me like track!
