I know the true motion is the more current and updated version but Im just looking for a spare centax clutch to put on a practice engine.

Anyone have any experience with the Centax-3 and does it do the job?

Until the True motion clutch is back in stock I figure the 3 will do just fine.

which car? On the 750 the centax 3 is areally tight fit, if it fits at all. The flywheel sits in a different position

Why shoud the Centax 3 suddenly not do the job?

The true motion has due the reversed construction compared with the Centax 3 a smoother movement of the fly weights giving a better throttle control over the clutch but the Centax 3 is still a good clutch.

As Julies mentioned, it shoud fit as well...

I did not say it fits. I think it does not or is a really tight fit in the 750.

Hello. On my Serpent 750, I use any NT1 clutch, with NT1 gears.

Centax clutches! Best clutches since Hudy and Serpent in '83! The start of the 2 speed. Quattro- Vector- 700 series, to 988 models. All basically the same, Shoes change material single to 3 peice shoes. Wont hurt to even use emery cloth to shape the shoe. Hudy and Serpent the pioneer of Centex 2 speed clutches.

Thank you all for chiming in. Didnt think it was going to take me this long to get things running but the true motions are in stock again and I picked one up as a spare. Sticking with the true motion in my 750.
