long awaited update. After the fair completed in August, there was some turnover in Fair Board management that has created some unexpected time delays. The entire new fair board has approved the track moving forward. The project has been given to the executive commitee to work out all details, so we are not just dotting I's and crossing T's. We will know shortly if it makes sense to lay asphalt this year or wait until spring. The labor shortage has also created some timing issues for this year so we are the behest of the pavers timing.

Thanks for the update Dennis! This is good news. As far as laying the asphalt, would it be better to lay the sheet and let it cure and take the chance of traffic and vehicles parking on it or wait until early spring? I would hope you can be one of the first on the 2022 schedule. Thanks Again for giving us hope that we'll have a great new place to compete! Cya soon!

In a perfect world, we would get it down this fall so all the oils, etc. all wash away over the winter. The grounds also have other paving projects in line so they may try to combine some projects, but it all depends on when the plants close which is all weather dependent. I know some years it has stayed warmer and they are paving through November and other times we get a cold spell and they shut down.

We will talk this weekend, but I know we want the 3rd weekend of July for their fair to have a race!

Fair board has signed a contract with the vendor to build the asphalt track. Asphalt plants in Southwest Ohio typically open in late February depending upon weather. Once they start will only take a few days to finish as the area is already based and graded, just a final prep is needed.

It’s great to see some headway in obtaining a new facility for the Toledo Nitro Racers. I had just finished building my Serpent 750 Natrix when I found out the Toledo track was closing. It was sad to hear as this facility was top notch. It’s unfortunate the club had to move so far South into the Cincinnati area as that puts my commute at 5.5 hours, I’m about 2.5 hours to the Big Dogs facility. At 5.5 hours of a commute to race with such a well known club will only be a slight inconvenience. I’m sure they will build this track and club into another top notch facility just like they did in Toledo. I’ll be checking the schedule to see when the race dates are scheduled. I will also be ready to try some 1/8th track time as I should have my Mugen Seiki MRX6R built by then as well.....
