Question, on the back shaft (gearbox) there seems to be allot of play. allot more than the 710. Is this correct?

Also, has anyone tried connecting up a connical manifold? I did mine but it toutches the graphite stabiliser part on the side? Did anyone have similar problems?

Thanks

I have the nova conical rubbing againts the center belt at 710 but not sure if 720 has this problem. Maybe you can feedback.

With some headers clearance between the flange and the graphite stiffner/belt can be close. I use a sanding drum to take a little material off the flang for extra clearance.

Hi Guys

Thanks for all the info, Qlone, you were right  ... all I had to do was to bring the pulley closer to the car... play now is 0mm. Before I figured this out, I had about 3.5mm of play...
Sometimes it helps just to re-check things

Thanks Julius, I am running a RB with a conical.. have the same problem... will need to shave a little of the graphite part...

Thanks

Yeah, I agree about the battery... I am running the Serpent one and it lasts all day.... I re-charge before the final though, for safety

Setup

Hey Guys

One more question from my side in terms of setup...

Is it safe to assume that the more bends a track has (especially 90 and 180 degrees) the higher your roll center settings should be?

I know this is not a rule that is cast in stone but it does make sense to me... eg. If you on a track where the a good time is 23-24s, track has more than 10 bends, then you should have higher roll center settings?

Any thoughts?

720 battery pack Sanyo Cells 1000mAh

Sanyo Cells (made in Japan) 1000mAh. Weight: 68 grams. Cost $17.85 + $4 shipping for ALL countries.

Most makers have moved off shore but Sanyo continues to make their cells in Japan. I prefer Sanyo due to consistency. A pack performs no better than it's worst cell so manufacturing consistency is critical.

If you can take some material off the header. They often have excess material. You don't want to weaken the stiffner when there is an other option.

Wow:weird: I charge mine about every 2 qualifiers, just to be sure...

Qlone 07-26-2006 01:03 AM

The runtime of the batteries also depends on the servo types one is running. A high power digital servo is rather power hungry and will drain a pack much sooner than a simple analog one.
When I ran my car using two simple analog servos I could easily run it for a day on a single charge. Now I have two (stronger) digital ones and almost make it, so I recharge once during the day...

Thanks Julius

I shaved about 1mm of the stifner at one point only. The hearder fits perfectly. Snug fit with about 1.5mm space between the parts.

It is too close to the screw hole to shave off anymore. I will take off 1mm of the header just get a little more clearance as this will help with accidents
