Glad to hear things went well.

I also like the car without the front bar, but at the nationals the traction was inconsistent and it was safer to use it on that situation.

Can you please recommend me a setup to begin with? Mainly i am facing understeer problems at mid corner and corner exit.

My current setup is attached,
I would appreciate any help,

Thank you,
Front changes

front roll center pins in middle position
-1 droop
.5 more camber each side
1 up on shocks
5 ride height (gives more rake)
Tires 35shore if possible and 37 rears is possible. (this combo will help)

Rear changes

droop 5
diff 20,000
one up on shock
1 more camber on each side
make sure to use 2.3mm sway bar

How short is track? Gearing on 2nd seems very short.

These are a start for changes. Let me know how they work and if you need anything else.

Good luck,

DJ Apolaro

Go heavier on the front gear diff oil. Maybe 100,000 would be better. At what part of the corner is the oversteer. Also were is the car unstable. Although the changes I gave you will help the stability.

Thank you Dj Apolaro,

The straight is really short, about 40 meters long.

Its a technical track with tight turns and quick direction
changes. When i tried to move to harder spring in the rear
the car seemed more stable. Specifically i tried blue(new)
springs in the front and blue (old) springs in the rear.

First i ll try your suggestions and i ll keep you informed!

Thank you very much,

George

The reason the harder rear spring felt better is because the softer spring is collapsing on itself. If you raise the spring like I mention it will keep the softness, but not callapse. This will halp maintain the softness/traction of the rear. Also you can go up more than one if needed. I run mine as high as the 3rd hole if needed.

The track is super flat as i told you,
Is it better to run a ride-hight as low as possible?
For example, a 5 front 5 rear or even 4.5 front 5 rear?

The lower the better. Make sure to keep a 1mm rake in the car. So 4.5 and 5.5. or 4 front and 5 rear. When Fort myers was really flat I would qualify with 3.5 and 4.5. Just depends on how flat and the stiffness on the car.

it really depends on the track surface. obviously the lower your ride hieght, the harder spring you need to use to prevent the chassis bottoming out on power and turns. also the harder the spring the more dampening you need. to prevent the car bouncing from spring tension.so you need to slow that down by harder dampening. a car on hard springs and low, will be very direct..change direction quickly and feel like it has less grip. can be fast in the right hands, but can also be a step backwards if your driving isnt as agressive.

Well guys, I can't complain with my S720 this past weekend. One hour and 45 minutes (15 min C main, 45 min B main, 45 min A main) of pure action and the car didnt even flinch... After very bad luck in the qualifiers, with engine problems and tire coming loose problems. I also had some problems with my setup, couldn't find one that suited the track conditions and my driving style.

For the main, I made some quick changes with the tires and the suspension and the car was perfect again. I had to work up my way from the C main to the A... I changed the engine, pipe and a few other things just to be careful before the mains.

The A main was a very exciting one... I am glad I never had a flameout or any other incident that kept me out of the race for more than a minute... Coming up from 10th place, by the first turn, I believe I was already positioned 5th place. Up ahead I got myself tangled with someone else and ended back in the pack again. It was a 45 minute main, so tire strategy and pitting was going to be the crucial factor. I ran 45 shore all around and I can say I never lacked rear traction. With about 5 minutes or less... It was Juan C. Rodriguez upfront, Geovannie Gonzalez behind and me in third. With about 4 minutes to go, Geovannie's front belt stripped and he had to tone down his pace in order to just finish the race. This allowed me to take the 2nd pole finish behind Juan C... All in all... we finished 1-2-3 pole position...

I have to thank my sponsor Serpent America for the support they have brought me.

Hello Dj Apolaro,

Went today for practice at the track today, using the setup changes you proposed:
- Changed front droop from 0 to -1
- Front roll center pins in the middle
- On hole upward on the front shocks
- Front ride hight 4mm
- Rear droop from 6mm to 5
- Rear Diff oil to 20.000cst
- Two holes upward on the rear shocks
- Rear ride hight 5mm

Using 37 shore rear and 35 shore front cut to 62.5 mm front and 64 mm rear.
The oversteer problem was dissapeared.. The rear traction was very good. However,
the car suffered from heavy understeer at corner entry and mid-corner..
I disconnected the front anti-roll bar and things went better. Then i switched from blue
front springs to red (old) springs which are softer and things went even better.
Very stable car, maybe just a bit off-throttle understeer at corner entry.

Tomorrow ill try increasing the caster a bit.
Any other recommedations? My current setup is attached.

Thank you very much for your time,

George

Wassup: Can I run a car with a little grease in the clutch and a small gap? Also my hinge pin is really tight and needs to be loose. What can I do?
