Options for the 720
With the 720 looking at moving back to Serpent on 1/10th (I'm already a very satisified 960 owner). A little less than 2 years with the 710 I called it quits and went with the MTX-4. I still like the Mugen but it has a few annoying problems. The front uprights snap a bit too easily and the 2-speed will stick to the housing forcing the car into permanent 2'nd gear.
Anyway, looks like Serpent has really responded to user feedback. The new car really seems to reflect that. And if Rene C can change his mind about turnbuckles you know there been a MAJOR change
My plan is to pick up:
1) 710 CVDs
2) 710 Single-piece Engine mount
3) 710 Front one-way (do I use the 710 pulley or is there one in the 720 kit?)
4) 710 lightened mid shaft
5) 710 aluminium mid mount
Does anyone know if 4) and 5) will work? My guess is yes. What about 2? Do I need just the one-way or the pulley as well?
I'd prefer not to over-option the car but I'm completely open to revising my list. Suggest away! I'm a little option shy since my 710 was almost completely optioned to death and most of the options were Serpent ones at that. My MTX4 has few options and it's been an A-main car for me. Hope that's going to be the case for the 720.
My bet on price
Price: Retail $459. Hong Kong shops: $380. Ebay: $360

Serpent place 3 S-720 first time out at the Sedan Nats.
Toso in 2nd place, Paolo in 4th and Scotty in 6th. Toso after having 2 good rounds, decided to start working on the final setup.
Paolo had radio problems all friday. Looks like they fixed. Scotty was fast and consistant.
A really good result for the first time out!!

What a result !!!
Introduction 720 !!!
After qualifying is finished I think we have made a good statement with the new car.
At the GP in Heemstede (same track will be the EC this year) we had a very good qualifying.
Top 5 positions all with 720’s. And 3 of them smashed the “old” qualifying record (held with a 710 right after resurfacing).
Sounds good to me .
In America at the 1/10 scale Nats, we did very, very well. Only 4 of the 720 driving we got 3 of them into the A-Main, with Toso in 2nd, Paolo 4th and Scotty in 6th position. I’m very satisfied with Maxy too, he made the B-Main with the 4th 720.
Already now, we can say this is a great performance and a successful introduction.
Let’s look what the final day will bring.
