so I'm geussin none of the parts fit the impulse. you guys must think the serpent impulse is old trash

Try loosening up the belt tension, might be a little tight.

Just got a used 720,dont feel like reading all these pages so please dont tell me to look back in the pages.What are this cars weak points,must have option parts,anything particularly weird,anything you guys can give advice on this car.Latc3 pm me if you havent any answers to your questions about the impulse,I ran that car when it first came out with a single speed side exhaust,had one forever know that car inside and out.I actually know where to get new parts,used cars,etc..

Weak points are rear arms / front bumber / spurs /pinion

IMHO but maybe i'm just a lousy mechanic/driver

Spur gears, replace pinions when they get sharp, I would get a couple front bumpers, front upper and lower arms, rear arms. Also extra cvd's.
The only thing I seem to rip up is spur gears.

Dont serpent make a body designed for lola bodies that is a lot tougher looking than the one in the kit??Yeah the cvd are weak as could be the used kit i got has regular bones in the car but the previous owner gave me the cvd shafts as well,but they are all busted,gotta take a better look hope i just need new shafts.

weak points or parts?? i do not think there is any if u mean they suddenly break without any proper causes . breakage resulting from impacts is a different matter in my opinion. but there is wear and tear issue , for this regular maintenance or servicing is required in order to keep the car at its best performance. it's been a year with the car and nothing unusual. no options used and nothing weird so far.

there are no weak points , unless you hit something then your going to break something ....lol....CVD's break fairly easy...i still have my original pinion's after 8 month's...( and they are fine...)

hardly will wear out pinions or spur unless setup wrongly... ready some front upperarms as they tends to wear slightly faster then the rest... trust bearing n clutch maybe for spares. never broke cvd without a hard impact, but hey u might broke anythng with hard impact...

so hereis the list:

front upper arms - wear n tear (never broke 1)
front arms - wear n tear (never broke 1)
rear arms - wear n tear (broke 1 when i broke my 2spd shaft too, very hard impact)
cvds - spares as the pins might wear
clutch assembly, shoes, bell, housing, etc - spares, wear n tear
belts - wear n tear
trust bearing - wear n tear
spurs n pinions - ratio option
springs - dampening option
sponge for RCC shocks - future maintenance

some other plastic parts too for spares if u live far from parts source... thrust bearing n clutch assembly depends to individual as i might wear them too fast as i'm not good in engine tuning... the 720 is fairly bullet prove now... the new SPP spring steel CVDs r great option too...

Its a tough car that's for sure. As for "age" or "generation", here goes :-

Impulse
Impulse Pro
705
710
720

The top 3 have most interchangeable parts.

The 720 has most of its Centax and 2-speed clutch. Shocks too probably that you can use with the Impulse. Other than that no .. I think ..
