The picture of the alum brace is the same. But the graphite picture is of one of the older testings. I only used that way during a test session. Not sure which maxy is using, but mine is not the same as your photo. Remember driving style makes a difference so there is not wrong way, but I prefer my way. The way I use it also helps in high traction for rolling.

When you do the right one the gears strip too easy. I tried it, but it was a pain. Trust me with just the left it is good.

Just wondering, has there been any news of a new model from Serpent? I might be getting a 720 but looks like it has been about 3 years from its debut and I have also noticed that Serpent usually comes out with a new model every 3 years.

I would just the 720. It is going to be a little while before a new sedan comes out. Maybe 1 year.

1 year, is that official? just saw that 'Serpent USA' in your sig... j/k

but seriously, I only ask because I have been screwed over in the past twice by getting a car at a bad timing. Bought a Mugen new and a year later there's a new model, all the part support goes south Got a Tamiya to replace it, and guess what, it does the same thing only a year later! The word 'discontinued' has since become my archenemy. At my age (in college), hobby budgets are pretty hard to come by, and at the price these cars are selling at, it does become an issue .

Look at what you are saying. A year later a new car came out for the other products. To me a year is a long time to wait for a car, but maybe for you it is different. Will it be a full for the new 720. I am not sure. I have heard it could be the first quarter of 2009, which is in 6 months. But my information is just guessing. I say this because if it was around the corner in a couple of months, they would be running it at the worlds. I do not think they are. Just to let everyone know, I do NOT work at Serpent. I am just a driver for them. I am not involved in any other aspect of the company.

Hope this helps and good luck,

PS - I know that you are j/k about the "official"

I run the car stock, but with those mods I gave you. I will say that I use one hole piston for the front shocks and 2 hole pistons for the rear shocks. I also use 35wt oil all around. This combo seems to work everywhere.

Hello again,
DJ I would appreciate if you commented on the front diff position. There is the possibility to reverse the bearing rings and put the diff a little lower together with the CG. How this would affect the car handling? Do you recommend it and when. I suppose that it affects the distance between the roll center and the CG.

Also, would it be possible to give us some hints regarding the different chassis. For example when to use the '08 default chassis and when the LCG.

Do you use the X brace mods with the LCG chassis or with the '08? Can these mods be used with both chassis?

Sorry for the many question, I hope that I do not abuse your time.

Thanks in advance
Dimitris

Hi

It's been awhile since i have touched a Serpent...

I wondered if anyone had the inside dimensions of the battery tray. I am wanting to use my LiPo pack and was curious!

Thanks in advance

I always use the LCG chassis. I do not use the 08 or any other chassis. I also use the front in the higher position. It helps clear the steering linkages. I have tested in both the upper and lower and found no difference in the handling. You can use all the mods in either chassis and they will help with the flex in that part of the car. Maxy has tested and used the 08 chassis and likes it.

Never too many questions. Thats is what the team drivers are supposed to help with. Plus I enjoy helping.

Regards,

DJ Apolaro
