Congrats to DJ on the win and Paolo on his second place finish. Paolo was a bit unlucky but his car definately was fast.

Thanks to DJ, Paolo, and Especially Sam and Nigel Sim for the great amount of support this weekend at the Capitol Classic. I was a bit unlucky but by the end of the weekend the car was good. Got caught up in a first corner pile up in the main and lost all my caster clips on one side . Was a struggle to drive it like that but the car still held up. Hope to meet with you guys again in the near future as I learned a ton!!!! Nigel your car was really good in the main just a bit unlucky!

I did make a line flow restrictor, but I went back to the regular lid and never used it. I might try it again, but for now I'm staying with the reg lid.

Hey Dave,

Yeah I have basically heard the same thing about the o-ring type lid, So using the line flow restrictor, are you meaning a fuel filter, or reveresed fuel filter or what did you make. Using this did you notice any loss of pressure using the existing foam seal lid.

So can I take it that you were experiencing the same issue I have been dealing with , as in your motor starting off fine then about 2-3minutes leaning out and loosing power?

I used an old filter, cut out the screen, and machined an aluminum slug a couple thousandths smaller, just enough so that I could suck some air through it. I never used it, because when I went back to the foam seal I didn't have the trouble any more.

I was having a very similar problem, but it happened any time during the tank. I could be going down the straight and the engine would just go lean and die. The main I ran last week, after warm-up, my eng. was 260, and at the end of the main, it was 260. I'll settle for that!

Leaning out doesn't necessarily mean loosing power coz when you lean out, you are suppose to gain power or go faster... but engine temps at this condition would also go way up...

my experience with my tank is i get leak at the cap due to tank not well sealed by o-ring at start of my sessions. and as i continue to run it at 2-3 tanks after, i believe the o-ring expands, then my leak goes away. then i get very rich mixture and i would loose power, my engine barely shifts to 2nd gear.

DJ what tires did you run in the main? Tire wear was pretty good but I guess you went a little harder since you didn't need a tire change

Thanks
