Let's just forget the results then
Are you going to deliver a setup of the car? What did you change? How was the track. It seems interesting to know what you all changed to solve the different problems that came on your path...

If everything goes well, on friday there will be a setup section on the serpent site again...

Hey guys, I'm building the 720 for the first time and am having real problems with the RCC shocks. Perhaps this is an old issue and has already been covered in this thread. If so would someone direct me to the relevent pages.

The lower plastic caps strip out so easily that I have replaced four already and havn't even driven the car yet. One was stripped out right from the box. Tightening the cap is a real crap shoot. Just tightening by hand will strip them. So jently I screw them in and pray as the o ring starts to come in contact. It's absurd. I don't know how you are supposed to do this. It's like the bodies or caps are out of tolerance. They are not cross threaded, they just won't take any tightening force.

Does anyone make aluminum caps for them? I would like to run the car this weekend, and have one body in particular that is very problematic.

I am ready to throw in the towel on this whole RCC thing and build up a set of the old style shocks. I have the shocks on my 710 and 950R down to a science. I am really not happy about loosing the adjustable dampening either. That was a real tuning aide

I hear that everybody loves them. I can't believe that I'm the only one having problems with them. I don't get it!

wow never had aproblem like that but you can try putting a little shock oil on the treads and o ring and turn in the opposite way and see if it drop in the grove and them turn it to close in up .

If you can't resolve problem, you can get aluminum caps from the online store below:

The problem that you are talking about was with the 1st patch of kits and has since been fixed. Get with the people that you got the kit from and have them contact serpent. They should be able to replace them for you. In the meantime you can try a sealer, silicone based. This wil keep them from leaking. Just an idea, there are other methods you can try also. Maybe thread lock or something similar.

DJ ~ Besides the shock caps and the rear lower arms, are there any other parts that have been superseded by newer ones? I want to be sure to include those in the KB.

I had the same problem with my RCC's for my 720. I have one of the first kits that came in. I wound up getting replacement caps for the shocks. Now they work great. The funny thing is I have RCC's on my 960 and they are older and work great. Since then, I installed RCC's on my 710 without a problem.
I think that it was a material problem. You were not alone.

Default Ball cups

Hey ,
I am having problems loosing up the ball cups and ball end on my 720. The steering is so tight that the servo saver lets go on centering and the camber link and sway bar links are also very tight. I have started to polish the ball ends, but I was wondering if any one has any other solutions
Thanks
