I stop my subscription at this mag, because they only have truggys, trucks and buggys and all over again. Only off-road, no gas on-road at all.
So that is not a surprice that the 720 review coming so long time after the release.
The web gives me the todays news, on-line today.

I have to agree about the mags. I am so sick of all the off road stuff. I am not knocking off road, I would just like to see more of on road, oval, drag racing articles for a while. I would be more likely to renew my sub. to this mag if they would cover more topics of this sort.

Default 720 refuel

Hey guys,
The pic is of salven on the 720 at the winternats. Check out the cutout of the body shell. Does anyone know how the team does the refueling if this will be used in the finals?

My guess is the body shell is cut specific for running qualifiers only. And they have body shells specific for running the finals. The hole on the roof is to access the fuel tank lid and the semi circle cut out at the front could be the best for airflow to the engine.

Anybody in the know?

I don't personally know what their gameplan is about bodies for qualifying and main. However, the cutout where Michael's middle finger is, is directly on top of the fuel tank opening. The cutout on the windshield is for cooling. The maximum is 2 inch hole but there is no minimum for windshield cooling hole. I guess he doesn't need too much cooling that's why he only has a tiny hole on the windshield.
By the way, if you click on my sig (the derby bros. one) I do have the same cutout on top of my car and that is where I refuel. In my case, I pull a long zip tie through the back window opening to open the lid.

Hi, one of serpent drivers explained that small opening here.. they claimed that this opening is enough for engine cooling and just be careful with the location! I'm sure they tested it before that it's the best location for airflow.. I must recall my fluid mechanics lessons
Small opening means more downforce

Later...

I use the rear window open all the way with a long ziptie to open the gas tank, then the hole on the top goes directly to the gas tank to use the fuel gun, and the hole on front is a half of the hole, it is pointing to the motor directly, that is enough air for the motor.
Top hole is 30cm max and front is 50cm max. For qualifying and main I use the same holes, you don't want your car to handle different from quals to mains.

I stopped mine too ... for the same reasons.

they're not that up-to-date as far as I can see, usually reviewing only US-based products, going to other products only when news has run out.

XRC is better ... no, the best!

That hole in the roof is just fine ... they use a fuel gun to refuel. you're correct, the front hole is for cooling the engine.
