Default started my motor up....and the flywheel got stuck

all excited....tension mounting..the motor starts for an instant...the motor cuts off

flywheel springs flew out...apparently the flywheel jammed itself

apparently it was not on correctly...now it only goes halfway one way..halfway the other...wont go all the way around

i can feel pressure as the fly wheel turns...is this normal?

Brand new engine? If it is, yup it's normal. Just means your engine still has a tight pinch at the top of the sleeve still. It'll get better as you run your engine. You are also feeling the compression of the motor, always a good sign.

Get some more fuel through that engine at a rich mixture.

Heat the engine with a hairdryer then start it up. The heat helps everything expand & start up easier. You will only need to do this for a tank of fuel or 2. Once the engine is run in it wont be as tight. You will still feel the pinch at TDC though.

Yeah, totally normal. In fact when I spin the flywheel with my fingers, it goes halfway each way, as I feel the compression building up. Totally normal, nothing to worry about.

Does the clutch bell spin freely? If not then your shoes are all messed up, I had this happen to me. Check them, then proceed with heating the motor and cranking her up.
