Kyosho V-One R4SP
Hi guys,
I acquired a kyosho v-one r4sp without the motor. The manual states a .12 motor with slide carb, rear exhaust port, and SG shaft are compatible. Would a TRX 2.5r work with the IPS shaft? If not, which nitro engines are compatible that are readily available. Im not competitively racing or looking for highest top speed. Just looking to get this up and running for some parking lot fun.
suggestions?

Hey thanks for the link. Doesnt seem to be available at the usual retailers.
Any thoughts/input on using the trx 2.5 with ips shaft?

The only .12 that seems to be available is by SH engines part SHEPT12R02SXT-1. Please share a link for the OS engine ver.4 if available for purchase.

Will do. Would you recommend any other .12 or .15? Again, not going to ever race this thing. Just want to run it once in a while in parking lots.

A nice goal that you you have bought a F1 car but keep in mind those cars are made to fit a F1 engine, I believe there are cheaper engines like SH, Force and STS with a rear exhaust but yes, there is no room for a pull starter ot any other attached startsystem.

Only place I found the OS for sale: https://www.rcmart.com/o-s-engine-o-...1d201-00105510
Also looks like most not TOTL racing engines are only for sale from HK right now, at least I didn't find any anywhere else. Here are two options on eBay. I think the prices are more than fair, especially since you're not looking to race and they're already including a pipe. Tempted to pick one up as a spare for my dad's MTX2 even:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Gimar-3PL-2...MAAOSwJ3hf-dJG
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Novarossi-N...sAAOSwn4VbjXPY
And here's the shop behind those eBay listings: Engine
Get an engine heater too, best case even get the engine EBIS'd to get more life out of the conrod, who knows how available parts for these engines will be down the line.

Hey thanks a million for those links. I think will go for the Novarossi combo. My only concern is that its from an overseas retailer. Do you think that these are counterfeit?

One of those links up there. A Novarossi with tuned pipe and header for around 200$. I couldnt find the model - n12-3on - on Novarossi website.

NIB Novarossi N12-3on 2.1cc .12 Nitro Touring Engine
The problem of Novarossi is that it has made more type of engines than official listed. For sure the last year they cleaned old stock by putting some parts together of what they had. Then engines like these hit the market. N12 sounds simular than the N12-3T, also later sold as a Sturm.

Good point actually. Now you've got me thinking, they don't have the ribs near the mounting holes most novas have either. Never heard of counterfeit engines before though, maybe it's an asia-only deal? The seller is an official distributor of Novarossi for China/HK for all that matters. If Nova was still active you could probably just send them a message buuuut.. yea.

No, these are no counterfeit engines, they are original Novarossi but made from old stock and left over parts.
