Exclamation 2020 Midwest Series

Welcome to the 51st running of the Midwest Series.

Anything new in the world since we last met?

Obviously, things are a little different this season. The May event has been cancelled, and the June event has been moved to Toledo. The lack of information is due to the uncertainty of what kind of racing would be permitted.

As of now, the schedule is as follows:

June 13-14: Toledo
July 11-12: Toledo
August 15-16: Cincinnati
September 26-27: Cincinnati

Series will be a best 3 out of 4.

Series rules are the same as last year. ROAR memberships are still required. You know the drill.

Ken Miller is still the series director. I'm merely maintaining the RCTech presence for those who still frequent this site. Official updates are posted on the Midwest Series Facebook page.

Hope to see everyone this weekend!

Points-Earning Classes:
1/8 Open
1/8 Masters (Ages 50+)
1/10 Sedan Open
1/10 Sedan Masters (Ages 50+)
1/8 Pan Car

Any other classes (1/8 GT, 1/10 TC, etc.) are at the discretion of the Series Director, host track, and must have a minimum of 5 entries.

Race Format:
Friday: Open practice (late afternoon - close), exact times and availability is subject to the host track.
Saturday: Open practice, 3 qualifiers
Sunday: Short open practice, 1 qualifier, 30 minute mains for all points-earning classes (Mains may be shortened due to weather or daylight limitations).

The order of classes will be rotated at each event, so everyone gets a turn at running first/last.

Qualifying will be single best laps & time (rocket round format).

Number of drivers in each main will be determined by number of entries and track capacity.

Points:
Points will be scored in the traditional manner. Series will be a best 3-out-of-4.
Qualifying points are earned for the top 20 drivers; TQ=20, 2nd=19, 3rd=18, etc.
Mains points are earned by laps & time in your main, regardless if you're in the A or the C Main; Fastest Main Time=80, 2nd=78, 3rd=76, etc.
First tiebreaker will be best overall finish at a single event.
Second tiebreaker will be highest dropped score from the best 3/4 format.

Entry Fees:
First Class - $35
Additional Classes - $25
Support Classes (1/8 GT, 1/10 TC) - $25 first class, $15 second class
