Somehow you didn't get the correct link for the charger. Is this the one you bought?

Charger

What amperage does it charge at?

Something to keep in mind is that besides worrying about overcharging (which this charger indicates it is a float charger) is using too high an amp rate on the "sealed" gel cell batteries typically used for starter boxes. If charged too fast they want to build internal pressure and vent. I bought a Hangar 9 charger from the lhs that specializes in planes, it was $10 and is specifically intended for gel cell batteries. It charges at 600mah, and my understanding is that you really don't want anything over 1 amp (1000mah).

yes that is the charger. my link edited.
i watched the charger and battery the whole time i was working in the garage for a weekend. nothing seemed to get hot. since then i have not even thought about it. for the price i doubt it charges at 1 amp or more.

Easy enough to check with one of HF's $2.99 7-function digital volt-ohm meters...

Yet another bargain--I've got one at each of three work benches (alongside the calipers), one in my RC race kit (again, next to the calipers) and one in my slot car race kit.

Here is a thread on 12V chargers. You should get the battery tender JR , its the best charger Ive found for starter box batteries. Cheap and seems to be the industry standard for float chargers.
