Default Tool to install Ball Bearing

I was looking for a tool to install Ball Bearings in .21 Crankcase and found the Novarossi 39001. It looks what I need but it's kinda expensive
Anyone knows in what material is that tool made of?
Maybe if I use a piece of material, like the one the tool is made of, in a lathe I could make a "homemade" Ball Bearing install tool.

Not sure of the Nova alloy which appeared to hardened and ground but if you can hold a reasonable tolerance on your lathe good ole American 1018 bar would work just fine for limited (non commercial engine builder) use.

Thanks for your reply.

I ended up making a similar tool using stainless steel ( I believe that is the English name for the Portuguese name "Ašo Inox"). It took some time to make it perfect for the job but I managed it
Maybe it ain't as "hard" as the original (or if I used the 1018) but it works perfectly.

I just put the crankcase on the stove, heat it up and tap once on the counter and the old bearing falls out.
Reheat the crankcase, put the new, cold bearing in place using the crankshaft and let it all cool down......
