Exclamation 2019 Great Lakes Challenge - Aug 23-25 - Toledo, OH

The marvelous 1/8 Racers of Toledo are proud to once again host the annual Great Lakes Challenge racing extravaganza on August 23-25. The event will continue to be all you've come to expect over the years, offering superb track preparation, race organization, and one of the finest raffles anywhere.

More information will be forthcoming regarding classes, but expect the typical 1/8 Open, 1/8 Masters, and 1/10 sedan, 1/8 GT and 1/8 Pan Car choices.

Regarding hotels, the most popular choice continues to be the Sleep Inn at 1761 Meijer Cir, Oregon, OH 43616.

Updates will be made to this thread as they become available.

If I enter the GLC at the MWS Race #3 in Toledo in July, would that be early enough?

All right. You two guys are special so we will accept your entries at the July MWS race. To all others, remember that the late fee applies to entries after 8/11 and you don't get a tee shirt if you apply after 8/5.

That is the plan as of today. Just come and race. The idea is to have a good time and enjoy running your car and bench racing with those that also come.

I have a question for my Toledo RC brothers. Is there any chance of running 4 min quals? There are a hand full of guys that I know that want to attend but do not wanna run 5 min quals. Is there any chance of this happening? I have no problem with 5 min qualifiers but i'm not the only one that races.

Too many 4minute motors ??? One pitstop can't hurt anyway unless there is no confidence in the pit crew.....

I hope not, I'm not in favor of shortening my track time. And like the Euro races are proving, drop em to 4 minutes and guys will still find a way to run out of fuel.

I have no problems with it but I've done the 4 min quals and they are better. Less stress on pit crew. Things have changed in racing for the better. I enjoy the old 5 min quals but 4 min quals are far less stress. Even IFMAR has made the change. It's not about not making time. It's about less labor and time.
