Exclamation 2019 ROAR Fuel On-Road Nationals - Sept 19-22 - Toledo, OH

The lovely 1/8 Racers of Toledo are proud to be the host of the 2019 ROAR Fuel On-Road Nationals. It has been over 10 years since the Nationals have come to Toledo, and everyone is excited to have the opportunity once again. We look forward to seeing old friends that attend our annual Midwest Series events and Great Lakes Challenge, and also to welcome new racers who may be visiting the track for the first time.

The race will be held September 19-22 and will follow the ROAR Nationals format. More information will be forthcoming regarding classes, but expect the typical 1/8 Open, 1/8 Masters, and 1/10 sedan. 1/8 GT and 1/8 Pan Car will likely be offered, pending ROAR approval.

Regarding hotels, the most popular choice continues to be the Sleep Inn at 1761 Meijer Cir, Oregon, OH 43616.

Updates will be made to this thread as they become available.

That's the plan. Waiting on official word from ROAR and the race organizers with the club.

Default Information PLEASE

That's my birthday weekend and would like to try to make it this year!

The more information available please post, pitting situation, hotels, fuel availability etc. Etc. Tire situation for GT8.

And what airport would you fly into?

I think the closest airport is DTW. Hotel deals will probably be posted later but you can search in Oregon, Ohio area for hotels near the track.

Pitting: at the GLC, it's $10 for a covered pit space with chair. This will likely be the same for the Nats. I will find out payment information since this would be handled outside of ROAR (who gets the race entry directly).

Hotels: As was mentioned, do a search for hotels in Oregon, OH. The Sleep Inn on Meijer Circle is the most popular. There are several more options on Navarre Ave, which is one exit north up the highway from the track.

Airport: Also as mentioned, Detroit.

Fuel: See the earlier post regarding contacting Ted for fuel.

GT Tires: For now I'm guessing it's open tire. I don't run the class, so I don't know any other details/options. I'll try to get more info.

From the ROAR website:

Registration will open for the 2019 Fuel On Road Nationals on Friday, July 26 at 9 PM EDT. This year's event will be held at One Eighth Racers in Toledo, Ohio from September 19 through September 22. Entry fees for the event are $100 for the initial entry and $85 for additional entries. Racers may enter a maximum of 3 classes. Racers may not enter both the 1/8 Open and 1/8 Masters class. The track will host an open practice on Wednesday, September 18 at an additional cost of $15.

Competition will be held in the following ROAR national classes: 1/8th Open, 1/8th Masters, 1/10th Sedan, and 1/8th GT. The event will also offer a provisional class; 1/8th 2wd pan car. Entries for the provisional class must be made directly with One Eighth Racers.

Current ROAR membership is required through the last day of the event. The maximum number of entries will be 150. Entries beyond the maximum will be placed on a waiting list if paid in full. Refunds will be issued for those on the wait list who do not make it into the event.

I am pleased to be honest. We'd best bring an engine which will do 5+ minutes.
I am actually a fan of the GT "no refueling" rule during qualifiers (IFMAR) only for them its 7 mins.
That way you can say that you can modify your engine how ever you like but it can not be refueled during your qualifier.
This rule could conceivably be used for all Nitro class's?!
could cut down on teching engine time??
