which turbo plug has anyone tryed and is happy with....reliability and performance wise???? are OS turbo plugs good or is it worth it to spend the extra bucks on a novarossi plug.?????????

Racers Edge Surefire plugs offer good reliability and are fairly inexpensive, they are available in 7 and 8 heat range.

From what I've heard, O'Donnell plug is the best for durability and consistency.
I only tried the 077T and I think it's too hot for us here.

I use the Team Orion ones and they work great on my MEGA and Novamega ......

Now, im buying a STS Engine and the distributor its recommending me just Nova plugs ...

The package on the 97t says 1/8th that is true, but if you are using over 20% nitro in a 1/10th then use this plug.

Straight for Steve O'Donnells mouth:

"Low nitro 1/10th use the 77t"
"High nitro 1/10th use the 97t"
"1/8th use the 99t"

I asked what is the low/high definition. He said 20% is the cutoff. He told me that above 20% nitro, the plug wire will distort on the 77t, which is exactly what I have found to be the case.

The reason there are only 2 non turbo and 3 turbo plugs are as follows:

In offroad, most people run 20% in 1/10th and 30% in 1/8. Of course there are exceptions, but that is the case most of the time.
Offroad, is where the standard plug is more prominent.

Onroad is where the turbo plug is more prominent. In onroad, the nitro percentages are less standard, and the turbos are slightly more finicky, so there are three plugs instead of two.

If it makes you feel better, instead of thinking of the plugs as 1/10th and 1/8th, think of the turbo plugs like this:

77t Hot
97t Med
99t Cold

Tune your engine accordingly, and I hope this helps some.

I just tried a nova 6 , have an os p7 and will be trying an hpi 7. The hpi was pretty good price too and says something about iridium in the coil.

Thats the new hot material to have in your car. So I figured I would give it a try.

Hopefully they work well.

For standard plugs the fox pro plugs are pretty good.

Well temp ranges from one plug manufacturer to the next will not match up. So getting a os p7 vs a nova 7. Wont be the same.

I would figure a good thing to try though. If you have a nova engine you can probably be pretty sure that the engine was tested with a nova based plug and for OS it was tested with an os based plug. And you should get some sort of plug reccomendation in the manual.

Thats always a good start. Then it just comes down to prefrence and price sometimes. Once I normally tune my engines I play around with other plugs.

Im sure some plugs offer more benefits than the other. But so many things change the plugs temperature range and a lot of companies change different things to change the temp. So, its hard to tell.
