They are parking lot smashers. Fun for the purpose they serve, but you are not going to be able to take it to the track and be competitive. I did take one of those, put foam tires on it, lowered it, played with the shocks and played on a track. But the key word here is played. You would be better off if you want an on the track car one like I have the Team Magic Le Mans. You can play with this car on the parking lot and then the track also. Not a street car, but good parking lot and as mentioned track. Plue you can upgrade. The price is almost double the Smartech however - $389.00. The other way is to look for a used car on the RC tech for sale and Ebay. Sometimes you can find something in your budget that will serve your need for speed now!

Good Luck
Sam

I still have one!

It is my weekly runner. Since i bought it i have put a new front bumper on it and removed the SMT .15 last week and replaced it with an O.S .12CV engine. The old plastic rims have been replaced with alloys.

Apart from those changes, it's stock as when i got it and it's still goes hard. Thanks to the 2 speed!

Cheers, Brett. :D

Smarttech cars are in Europe mostly sold by funshops and computer shops. They are sold as a toy/gadget and most shops selling these cars can/will not deliver the support. You have to look for shops selling parts alhough some models do look like Carson models and is there a way to get the parts.

I like it, it's served me well over the years. I have a good supplier of parts in Australia so it's no problem for me to get spares.

The little O.S. CV.12 goes just as hard as the older SMT .15 so i'm happy about that!

The only small problem is that the gearboxes are starting to get a little noisy but some shims will fix that.

Cheers, Brett. :D
