Default XR-8 + O.S. .30

im trying to put my new o.s. onto my xr-8. but i can not figure out the clutch. I guess the engine(eventhough it says for use on or off road) is not supposed to go onto a car like this. the problem i am having is that the clutch nut does not go down far enough on the crankshaft. So, i end up having to put spacers behind the flywheel, which messes up everything. so, i guess what i need is a clutch nut, that goes further down the crankshaft, then the one i already have.

first question, your OS is standard shaft or SG shaft...? SG is a long one, and standard is rather short and ended with threads at the end of the shaft.

If your engine is standard, unless XR8 has a adaption kit (like NTC3) that can work with the standard shaft and the centax....then I think what you need is a SG crank engine...

I assume u have the OS 30VG, which uses SG shaft, so there shouldn't be much problem. Did you check if you put on the "Cone" on the shaft before you put the flywheel on?

i put two spacers, then the collet. and that moves the bell housing too far out, and i cant set the clutch gap. So, i put one spcer, then the collet, then the flywheel, and then annother spacer, then the clutch nut. and since, i put a spacer between the flywheel and clutch nut, it doesnt allow the spring to go all the way down. so, what i need is a different clutch nut, that will allow me to screw it down farther then the one i have now. in other words, in order for the flywheel to tighten up on the collet, i have to put 2 spacers either in front or behind the flywheel.because if i dont space it out, then the clutch nut will screw all the way down and bottom out the threads, before it tightens the flywheel into place. it is a .30 vg. with the long shaft, but it just seems like the thread on the shaft is too far out. i need to either thread the crank down more, or get a different clutch nut.
