OMG! Roughly 27 hours (nine hours-three days)of race time on the track, and some people want to whine about two seconds.... Ralph and Mike had everyone covered. Ralph won. Get over it....move on........It's been a week already. Ralph has still won.

To the crew: Great weekend. Well run program.

I think that maybe the cars being closer to the drivers then the drivers on the stand they could hear and see much easier than on the backstretch. Even though the start boxes are spaced closer there the first corner was not too far away so you don't need to be on the gas that hard to get to it compared starting from the backstretch. Plus when your spaced tighter together it forces each driver to throttle up much more carefully.

I offer this theory as mine and hopefully to improve heads up starts in the future. I'm thinking that the general thought was the backstretch was needed to space out the cars further. But perhaps this thinking caused the opposite of the desired effect compared to the advanges of being on the frontstretch (closer & slower) and spaced tighter (drive more carefully). Anyone think so as well?
one thing i am sure of is the drivers can see the entire field at the start much better from the front stretch than the back. i agree that we would be forced to start slower from the front but i heard some comments from guys who were there in 03 who were glad we weren't starting from the front. i don't remember any wrecks during any starts from 03 either.

I wasn't trying to wine or make comment on how the race was run by the cinci crew. Problems and controversy always will happen of course. I was just trying to offer constructive discussion towards helping avoid problems in the future. Always my experience has been a good one when racing in Cincinnati, they're a fantastic crew.

When you guys get this all figured out, give Bernie a call. I'm sure he's also looking for an answer.

Bill,

I will give John Sch. and Dennis Y. a call tomorrow and see if they have it.

If it is there, I can pick it up in a couple of weeks.

If anyone who attended the Nats could double check to ensure they have "their" radio that would be very helpful.. My fear is it was mistakenly picked up, and with slow down in racing (late in the season), the radio could just be sitting around somewhere unknown.

I apologize, I was under the impression it had been shipped. Rene, the lady doing the race registrations had the list, items and new to ship. Let me double check with Rene tomorrow at the track and get it out.

Great race - the Club did a great job.

Bit of bad news for me - I lost two Xenon R's, 8 JR servo's (all hi-end 8800's and 9000's) and a bunch of JR Spektrum gear (Old style and new style). If anyone see a grouping like this - could you contact me?

Someone snapped my small black Exergen temp gun from the pits under the driver's stand on the second day of qualifying. If you have an extra temp gun that says "BAUMBACH" on it can you let me know?

Other than the missing stuff, great race!

Jason
