I assume you want to race on-road 1/10th scale, therefore 3-port will be legal.

Yup 3-port & Turbo-Plug is legal for most if not all race associations.

Mostly all OS.12TZ mods are pretty good depends on what company you want to go with.

Go with the stock TZ. Difference between the EB mods and the stock one is not noticeble, except for the price. Remember that stock TZ internal parts are cheaper and easier to buy than the modded ones. This was a big factor for me to lean in and take the stock TZ over all the modded versions. And I can say, I do not regret it.

see what peaple are running at your track, may wont a 3 port so you can run at roar races. I know most tracks dont care it it is a 5 port or a 3 port, If you are new to 1/10 NTC most fast guys/gals will be fast with a 1 port so go with the 3 port and get up to speed and if you need more get the 5 at a later date and still have a 3 port

If your a new racer, a moded motor is a waste. In fact its not only a waste it will probably slow you. And cost you more money to replace when you need others things to help you along.

Stick with a stock TZ, thats more than enough.

How much better? 1 minute? 2 ? I find the difference of consumption is negligible.
