Mike - I can understand where you are coming from, I said something negative about your local track, or the town that your local track is in, and you cleared it up. I really was not trying to be negative at all, but when I'm not a local and rap on Compton is…. well not a good one, I felt it was only fair to ask, rather then going back in to my hole and not asking. Believe me, MS is a state that well just is not for me. Nice people, but when you die, you will either go to heaven or MS. LOL!!!!! People ask me about it and I tell them the devil comes to MS to get inspiration for hell, it is damn hot here.

I use to run there with Mike Jones till 1 or 2 in the morning (remember those days "B"). Never ran into any trouble. Being safe there should be the last thing anyone should worry about.

Bvoltz - trust me i took no offense to the question asked, i would had asked the same if i was coming into a city with a bad rap. Theres some places in compton i would not want my car to break down in and i believe there's places like that in all city throughout the world. All I was trying to do was clarify the peacefulness of the location of the track and its surrounding area.

C Verano - those night at the track were crazy, running until 3 in the morning breaking in motors and trying to find the faster line

Without crystalpark; there alot of guys in the r/c community who wouldn't be at the higher level of competition which there at; like myself and others. Crystalpark is very laid back and once your there, you will forget about the name of the city the track is in and just know that your at one cool as? track.

If they can just spend some $ renovating the track, it would be perfect.

Default Life

Life would be perfect if we had world peace...
but we don't ...and life ain't....
we at crystal park r/c raceway do our best to have a place to play with our r/c cars.. we are on a hotel /casino site... we do not own the land...
we do what the hotel ask us to do and not to do so that we can have a gym to play ball in...
if it is not nice enough for your taste ....oh well....
all i know is there are many r/c tracks much worse than crystal park... and few that are better...
we have not had any cars or equipment stolen...we have not had anything but good racing.. and if you like good racing thats what you will get...
keep in mind .. This is a hobby of mine,, i have my r/c club set up so that you can practice 7 days a week...
and have races..
not many places to do that...
This is a hobby of mine..... thats all.. everything i can do for the sport i will with in my means......
and for the record.... for the person in chicago......al capone never stoped me from running my vcar in chicago...
moral of story......every city and town makes somebodys news paper good and bad....
and if the Nationals are in harlem... if you are a true contender or r/c racer you will be there scared or not.... and if you want me to look out for you so that you feel better... call me James Reese track / club owner..310 489-5107...
crystalparkrcraceway.com take a look..........PEACE>>>>

While I agree that there are some places where saftey is an issue, I can say that I've never felt unsafe at the race track or immediately around there. If the race was on a bad street, then that would be a different story. Plus we've got all the brothermen to keep the peace! Everybody I've met at that track is been super friendly and fun.

The track is safe as long as Robbie is there to protect all of mankind!

Seriously though, the track is in a safe location. I have never had anything stolen nor have I ever felt threatened or unsafe in any way. If you leave the property and take a few wrong turns, especially late at night, you might find yourself wanting to get back to the track, but you would really have to go looking for trouble. The freeway entrance/exits are just outside the property, and the track is bordered by all sides by train tracks, river, and parking lot, away from any uninvited traffic.
The track surface and layout itself is very nice, there are a few bumps, but just like any other track, it has its ups and downs. Local racers who have been racing long enough will remember the days when we had no permanent track in LA, and those 5 or 6 guys that would labor hard to assemble and take down the track each weekend, have nothing to complain about.

I talked to Mr. James Reese yesterday and he informed me that I and everone else need to get there sign ups in with payment before the pre nationals race date or there will ba an aditional $20 fee added to your sign up fee which will make it $50 instead of $30 I will be sending mine in today.
