My home workshop has a 12gal commercial compressor. That's too large for r/c. Frequently, I use my 6gal shop vac as a blower. Not a lot of pressure, but it works to blow the big stuff off my MBX-7 after I loosen dried dirt with a wooden stick or dowel.

for rc I would guess a hundred dollar pancake compressor if you plan on being mobile. I little bigger for house. You shouldnt have to spend much since all you need is the occasional blast of air.

Im considering going with this one for track use:

and get something larger for my garage that can also handle power tools.

The max pressure that the compressor will reach is in my opinion VERY important. Mine is a Porter Cable that shuts off at 150 psi. This higher pressure will peel the dirt (especially mud) off of the car much better than a 100 or 125 max pressure compressor.

This is the best traveling RC compressor. Low power usage and quiet.

yeah our track owner has one of these, very quiet,
and the most expensive lol
but guaranteed to outlast any cheapo out there,

and +2 on the 150psi, you wouldn't think the extra 25psi makes a difference but it sure does!
