Default Marine Engines

Is there any difference in a marine engine from a surface besides the head?

Could I one, put a surface engine head on it and be good to go? Thanks

Timings are also different.

Our Marine motors are usually very thirsty but make lots of power and rev alot...we usually run upward of 18% oil (15%syn 3%caster) or 15% total (12 + 3).

Marine motors are designed to run at higher RPM for most of the time, there is no real slowing down and taking off again, compared to surface. They are usually direct drive also (no gears).

Got it, so don't do it.. especially for a noob lol.

There is a decent number of OS CV-R marine engines NIB but not the same for surface variants.
