For the time being a Mugen or HB body will work. Proline is developing the new body it's not the one listed. I'm not sure about the picture. Everything is very quiet for the big reveal. The correct body, when released will only enhance the driving experience.

The hubs are +5mm. Any current wheel will bolt up to spec.

to be all honest here.. there are quite a few take aways i have for this truck, looking at the release.

We all know how Xray likes to have tuning options and such.. so.. here goes my thinking..

i think Xray may be trying to have a PBS option for the truck. I get this from the fact that the upper steering brace still has holes for the upper B block to be added. So, all you would need is an updated front shock tower, upper and lower arms, and viola.. PBS.

Who knows what is in store for the XB8, possibly release next year a C-hub buggy? or C-hub conversion?

the XT8 is very very similar to the XT9 in my opinion, when Ty got his first truck, they peice milled a truck from the XT9. and he has been working on it ever since.

i think most differences you see, are mainly arm material. hardness and such.. other than that.. i dont really see much difference.. better shocks.. better diffs.. updated geometry in shocks, and steering..

So since I could not find any straight answers I decided to download the manual and gave it a good read. Seems like the Truggy can be bought and with about $150-200 in parts can be converted to an e-version.

Why would they not just come out with an XT8E the same time as the XT8? Seems counter productive to make the consumers buy a Nitro version and then convert it to the E-Version.

Anyone got thoughts on this?

you can do a search on this same exact question in other forums, and get plenty of answers on it.

I assume mainly because they focus on the nitro side of things first.. due to the nitro being the bigger classes having the bigger events, and more prestigious races.. then the E-side later. if you look in the manual, there is a conversion kit for it planned.. just not completed yet. so, instead of upsetting the many more nitro people out there, and hearing the complaints saying.. why cant they just release the nitro now.. so we can get our hands on it.. and waiting and waiting until they get the electric conversion stuff setup.. they released the nitro truck.

you could do like i did, when the new 2016 buggy came out.. pull all my E stuff our of my 2015 ebuggy, and put it in the nitro buggy.

buy the nitro kit.. sell all the nitro parts to offset the cost of the electric conversion parts.

or.. just wait for them to release the e-conversion kit.. or the e-kit.

So let me ask you this question:

What's the norm of the E-Version as it pertains to Nitro version, in terms of release dates?

Are the E-Versions normally a month behind? 3 months behind? a Year behind? I'll be new to X-Ray so have no clue, so looking for candid answers.

Thank You

honestly.. i cant answer that... i dont think there is a norm for release.. like your asking. the only difference i see between my car, and an Ecar.. is the chassis. thats it.

X-ray has never had an E truggy. I doubt very much that one will release.
I'm sure conversion will be easy.

On my old XT8 we upgraded the steering knuckles to give the truck more steering "throw." Will this be needed on the new truck? either upgraded knuckles or a little dremmel action on the c-hub?

from the xray website

V2 UPDATE: The front steering block is modified with extra milling allowing the steering block to have increased turning radius to gain extra steering, which greatly improves the handling and makes the car even easier to drive on all tracks.

Xray offered the option part as well.
