Your thoughts on these servos for 1/8 nitro buggy: Only $15!
Speed is .12sec and torque is 183 in/ounces. Your thoughts? Will be for club racing only, nothing super competitive. Getting my feet wet again after several years off racing and want to do it on the cheap.

don't do it... whats your budget... you can find something better...

Don't do it. 1/8 buggy and truggy are brutal on servos. Buy the HV capable and big torque number servos and be set. There are options other than the name brand servos out there. Blue Bird, Trackstar, and others come to mind.

Waste of those $15 IMO

13.2kg is probaly not enough I would suggest this one https://hobbyking.com/en_us/tracksta...14sec-57g.html |
Just remember when a steering servo goes bad , the car crashes .... when a cheap throttle servo goes bad , you crash and possibly trash engines and clutches as well . 1/8 scale runaways are no joke, Bad place to save $30.00 . Buy a cheap steering servo fine , but at least step up on the throttle / brake servo.

That's a torque monster, great suggestion. (Around 294 oz-in) Is .14 fast enough on steering?

It's not just the servo but the radio as well. A quick servo with a slow radio will not make you happy and of course vice versa. It is the whole package, radio+servo+battery+reciver, that will determine how connected you will be.

Took your advice, went with a couple of these:

Servos are pretty important, that is one thing I make sure I spend good money on.
I wouldn't skimp in that area! |
what's the best high end, Servo on the market?

Depends who you ask, everyone has their own opinions & likes, but spending huge amounts of money on electrics, engines, radio gear etc isn't going to make you fast or as good as the pro's. An engine with to much power may actually make you slower if you don't have the experience driving & getting handling set up correctly.
But I rather spend decent amount, knowing it's gonna last me long..then not spending much.. and have to end up buying new ones later on. But still very true what u said.. it was just a query on good servos Than buying cheap ones |
