Stratch and strike they ain't up to par.
The flashpoint receiver pack is no good? I can't seem to get any help on a recommendation for receiver, transmitter, and starter battery.

They're quite a bit heavier though.

Another benefit to Life packs (compared to Nimh and nicad) is the storage voltage never seems to drop. You can charge them up, let them sit for a few months and they are still fully charged. (or close to it) I'll never use Nimh packs in my heli's and airplanes again.

Yeah a bit heavier than LiPo I've read but a little lighter than Nimh & NiCad.

Even with a 2s LiFe in my MT4 radio & can feel a weight saving over my brothers MT4 radio which has 4x AA Nimh batteries.

I also ran a 4s LiFe pack from Hobbyking in my 1/8 nitro starter box, seemed to work well but I must of caused damage trying to start new engines & it puffed up a little & wouldn't put out as much power, was using is for a few yrs though.

I ran LiFe reciver packs before and will never do it again. The reason is that I run out of power in the main final even when the pack was fully charger and just a months old.
Just my take of it.

I run them and they work fine for me. Using a futaba throttle servo and the latest hitec brushless servo for steering in Truggy and I only need 200-300 mah to charge after running a 30 minute main. Don't get them wet though. I finished a main in the rain with an Mbx7r and the pack died at the end of the race.

I think that could be a battery pack problem, not a LiFe problem.
My receiver packs are 1700maH & I've put through 8 tanks of fuel while using the same pack & still had enough power for a couple more tanks.
I get good fuel mileage so there would be plenty of power for a 1 hour a-main.

I tried one a while ago, cost a pretty penny, crapped out in a 30 min main, went back to lipos and never had another issue.
