Does anyone have a part # for the new radio tray? 817 manual lists 114413 which is the same v2 tray as 815

It's the same part number. The logo on top says hb racing on the new tray. The old one has hpi racing

so please again thank you, but EPAs are beginner topics.
my question again:
is here anyone who knows different platforms and has the same experience?
my friend comes from mugen and there the radiobox/servoinstallment is a lot stiffer.
There should be 5 screws holding the radio box assembly to the chassis. If a power driver is used carelessly, the screws can strip out causing the entire tray to loosen. The servo grommets might not be compressed enough as well.

I have minimal flex in my radio tray and have never lost a servo in any of my HB cars.

How does a flexing radio box cause a servo to die? It seems like the flex would be a cushion for the strain on a servo.

You can stiffen up the side to side movement of the radio box by using longer screws. If i remember correctly you can use a 4x15 or 4x20 in one of the critical spots by the throttle servo.

thank you all for your help!

i will check back and report to my friend.

*update*
checked the manual, looks all ok and tight to me.
5 x M4 screws are more then enough in my opinion.
that "longer screw" option sounds good to me.

my friend is quite experienced racer, so i first thought it cant be user error, but .... who knows i will check his car with him together.

thanks again to all of you!

I carefully tighten the five radio tray screws....too much and your toast. I then use the rubber grommet supplied by the mfg. but for the throttle brake servo I do not over-tighten. When I apply brake the servo more than the tray flexes...again we are talking a very little. my point is (knock on wood) I have not had a throttle servo go on any of my HB cars with the V2 tray using this method....

I was able to burn out a throttle servo in the D815v2. I've owned several buggies over the years and what I attributed it to is the HB car likes a way lower EPA then other cars I've driven. I have my EPA near 35 now and all seems to be well. With other cars I could run my epa considerably higher with no issues. Hope this helps.

You should only be using enough EPA to stop your car the way you like. If your going past that point and just locking up your tires and flexing the tray hen yes you'll burn a servo out.

With that being said my radio tray does flex a small amount when my brakes are applied. It's no big deal.

The other thing is that the throttle brake linkage takes a little bit of extra care to get right. Check the rods don't hit the tank at full throttle. Make sure the servo horn doesn't hit the center diff top plate at full throttle. I run my throttle horn center point clocked about 1 - 2 hours off center to avoid this.

Do you guys set you droop by your shocks to set your droop or you use the droop screws?
