T5M to gas truck conversion complete

Well, I have successfully converted my T5M to gas truck. I miss the gas truck days...simple, over powered, pretty inexpensive and a drivers class.

The basics.
T5M chassis, rear supsension, front suspension and body.
GT2 transmission, fuel tank, throttle servo mount.

Mostly finished product. Still have to do the throttle linkage and pipe mount.

A few more pics right now. More to come documenting the process.

Sure. This was all done with a dremel and a hand drill. Hope to get the holes machined on another chassis this winter. Want to test it first to make sure it is worth the hassle.

and there was just no way to put the rx pack onboard instead of off the rear?

Could move the fuel tank towards the pipe and mount a flat pack on its side down the center of the chassis

Any idea on the smallest rx pack (mah and/or physical size) that would last at least 40 minutes in a gas truck? Just trying to figure some stuff out.

That rocks man! Great job!

Yea dude, nice job. You can tell you got a lot of time into that truck. I hope it works well for ya

Need opinions from people. Do you think this layout would be better? Rx pack on its side, fuel tank moved over some.
I would grind away the upper brace and move the battery towards the throttle servo from where they are in this pic.

I personally think a lipo pack in the center of the chassis would be much better performance wise but I can't get over the thought of spilling fuel on my lipo pack....
