Dakotah is running a 8T 4.0 with the 8X rear hub on it. You have to then also use the 8X rod ends with th e4.0 turnbuckle to make it long enough. You put the axle in the hub, then 1.5mm of axles shims, then a +2mm hex.

I just did the conversion and I used the truggy turnbuckles.
8x hubs, 8 x rod ends. You just have to rheam the hole a little to get the rod to start threading into the plastic.

hello,

I just read the whole thread

could anyone tell me, to convert my 8T 3.0 to 4.0 i just need 8T 4.0 drive shafts and shorter arms right? no need the turnbuckles set of the 8T 4.0? even for the steering i can use my actual turnbuckles no need shorter?

is the caster blocks and spindle of the 3.0 work with the 4.0 shorter arms? thanks in advance

I ask because I'm pissed, I ordered a kit of 8T 3.0 drieshafts and the seller give me the 8T 4.0 driveshafts, so if i can convert my 3.0 truggy with only the arms and driveshafts it's perfect for me, no need to send them back (i'm from France, sorry for my bad english, and really thanks for the help)

Hello,

I do not understand a few days ago I ask a few questions but it does not appear, so I start again

to convert one 8T 3.0 to a 8T 4.0 i just need Arms and driveshafts from the 4.0 for a narrower track? no shorter turnbuckles to match the shorter arms? shorter steering turnbuckles are needed no?

spindles and hubs carriers from the 3.0 are a direct fit on the 4.0 arms? no need modification?

thanks a lot in advance! and sorry for my bad english i'm french...

The only things you need to narrow the truck are the arms, turnbuckles and drive shafts.

The hubs, knuckles and axles used metric bearings and added dust boots. The knuckles just added the height adjustment which required new castor blocks from the way the king pins was secured.

If you want to just try the narrower truck without the cost investment just get the 3 items I mentioned at the beginning.

ok thanks, i only bash with my truggy so if i can use my 3.0 hub carriers and spindle it's better for me, i don't want a full 4.0 convertion (and i have already a lot of spare parts: 3.0 hub carriers, caster blocks, spindles and bearings), so only arms, turnbuckles and drive shafts are needed it's cool!

i asked because one big reseller on ebay send me the wrong driveshafts, i ordered a full 8T-E 3.0 set of driveshafts and i have received one set of 8T 4.0 driveshafts... of course without the dust boots ^^ (I was disappointed it's really not cool to order 3.0 truggy parts and receive 4.0 even for 45euro shipping cost included, good price but wrong driveshafts lol)

so now or I send them back for a refund (France -> united states) or I keep them and make a narrower track with the less 8T 4.0 required parts (so I should just buy again arms & turnbuckles, honestly if I have to buy more part for me it's not worth it to keep the driveshafts, i'm happy with the 3.0)

(otherwise i have tested i can use the 4.0 axles on the 3.0 spindles and hub carriers, of course it works)

Was wondering the same, does anyone know if thatís the case for the 2.0 RTR as well, I noticed the 2.0 roller vs 2.0 RTR parts list just a different part number. The 3.0 roller hinge pins seem to be different length then the 2.0 RTR leaving slope in the A arm.

What about A arms can 3.0 or 4.0 A arms be used on 2.0 RTR, if so any other parts need to be upgraded along with it? Thanks guys

3.0 you will need carriers and spindles shafts. 4.0 same thing as its a narrower wheelbase.

ok thanks I think Iím just going to stick with the stock parts rather then going crazy trying to upgrade everything on older tech. Going to hold out for that 8ight T X
