Gene,

WHen you get the chance please check the CEN board as I posted a question for you. Also, if anyone has new RTR shock towers, may be interested in picking them up as they seem to be quite durable and probably dont' need the Alloy ones.

I have them in stock, but they bend during hard crashes.

How much harder are the CNC ones? Maybe I'll just hang onto them. I was thinking to sell the CNC tower and pickup a few spare new RTRs just in case.

in a year plus with my buggy, I havn't done any damage to the CNC towers, other than wearing some of the red off, but other than that they are in 100% perfect shape, but on my ARR car I bent the rear tower during break in, I just bent it back and it still works fine, but I'm sure you can only bend them back and forth so many times, they are really good for RTR towers thgouh, they hold up much better than any other brands stamped towers I've had experince with, but the CNC ones are a lot better

Thanks for the info. I just hold onto them and see about buying a front CNC tower when I have the cash.

Is it necessary to run grease on the ring and pinion?

its better to use something like AE Stealth Lube because the grease just makes the transmission have more resistance.

I received my kit yesterday. When i got home from work i started to build it. It took me only 3.5 hours and i didnt loctight yet becasue i was out but i will do it before i run it. I have to say that this Kit is the best kit i have ever assemable. I love that there is stainless screws included. TYhe direction was simple to follow. The parts fit extremely well. I Cant wait to run it. ( i am scarred becasue it so dang pretty)

Awesome Job CEN!

I also was very impressed with my first matrix. Wish I held on to it as it had all the red alloy stuff on it (it was the one reviewed in rcuniverse).

But I am happy to have another one again.

Hey guys I am thinking about making the switch from Losi to CEN and I wanted to know what all needs to be done to the car to make it a top preformer. Also was is all this I hear about needing different diffs, carbon shock towers, Koyosho knuckles, and so on and so forth. What are some of the upgrades needed to be added to the FRE Matrix? Thanks
Marcus

you dont NEED anything, the car works really good stock, but just for extra durability, its nice to get the CNC machined towers, CNC front knuckles, and the CNC bellcrank, also if the LSD diffs dont suit your driving style, Gene makes a cross pin conversion,

if you dont crash alot or really hard, the CF towers and plastic bellcrank wil be fine for you, I ran all last year with the same plastic Bellrank, but I had the CNC towers, just because I like the red, also the Knuckles are good to get because they give you more steering throw vs the cast ones, I also ran the stock diffs all last year too, and was happy with them, I got Genes conversion to try this year thgouh,

Default Matrix rtr engine break in

Hello, I just purchased the rtr matrix for my step son and we will be breaking in the engine this weekend. I would like to know what to set the needles at for break in with the .26 stock engine. I will be doing the heat cycle method.
