Been watching every day of it. The live coverage has been fantastic. It's a shame there is so much tire drama again. Not good for 1/8 racing.

Saucing. Proline has provided Ty, and maybe a couple of others with a tire that is easily a second a lap better than what anyone else has. So some have started saucing in creative ways to close the gap even though saucing is supposedly banned at the event.

I'm not even sure how they would police something as subtle as compounds though. Also, wouldn't a softer, grippier tyre be more prone to wear over the course of a race?

No, Proline aren't saucing. They just have a tire that is such an advantage that others are saucing in an attempt to keep up.

It seems to be an existing tire pattern in some unobtanium compound.

If im not mistaken, I believe its actually the compound they are using thats giving them their advantage. In the pictures at least, it looks like Ty is using Electrons. Lutz mentioned something on Facebook about only a couple PL drivers having MC compound Electrons, maybe thats what it is?

That was some serious hack driving in the semis, and really, really bad in the LCQ. More than a few penalties should have been handed out.
