One, to be clear, truggies are "limited" to .28 only in that a .28 is the maximum size. Most people run .21's. A good .21 is plenty... It's not about size with engines.

Secondly, I started with truggies, then when I tried buggy I thought it was a lot of fun. Different - more agile, nimble, and twitchy, but a cool challenge. Wasn't frustrating at all. Yeah, starting in buggy might make you a better truggy driver later.., but that's a minor consideration really. I find buggy culture to be even more uptight and competetive than truggy racing culture, which can also be a source of frustration. Truggy is a bit more relaxed generally, so I like truggy better(This is less the case from year to year though, as all the former MT basher types have either left the hobby or converted full-nerd into humorless uptight racers..) Both are fun to drive though..
