I'm thinking about doing the same thing. I've read the losi 454 is just an lrp .28 and is an excellent motor for the price.

I ran RB .21s for awhile then the last couple years when monster trucks were still going I went to the OS .21 tm that is a direct drop in for the Revo. Had way better results with the direct drop ins.

the revo doesn't hold up too well to a true bigblock..... the chassis is quite weak and easily bends and the drive gears are extremely fragile and very prone to failure.... If all your doing is running around on flat ground you should be OK< but if you plan any real offroading or jumping I wouldn't do a bigblock kit....IMO the Revo just isn't built study enough to handle any sort of big power without turning into a endless money pit that is constantly breaking.....

a race .21 and that os 28xz would not work with the new era mount, as they are bump box engines, that mount requires a pull start or roto start..

everything else thats needed to say was said already

I know I originally decided to put a lrp engine but for the os for for the same price, so I'm thinking of buying the traxxas kit

+1, to make a revo last you need to replace nearly everything, including gearing in the centre diff, (you then loose reverse), need to replace them with steel gears, can't remember the name of the company that makes them, you will most likely need a new better quality slipper clutch as well & will need to upgrade driveshafts etc because they wear even with the crappy 3.3 engine.
I replaced my revo engine with the 21tm, better engine than the 3.3 but still not that powerful compared to a true big block .21.

The tranny is already replaced with a one way. I do g believe the drive gears will be a issue not the slipper, but once the engine is in and everything running those stupid plastic molded things must go. Always hated then
