James Racing Tire Prep/Gluing Tips

1. Use non-chlorinated brake cleaner or Alcohol to clean bead of tire.
2. Dremel wheel bead. This gives it a good bonding surface. Clean after dremel with above cleaners mentioned above.
3. Use loctite professional glue.
4. Enjoy!

What James Racing Tires are compared to in other brands:

PL suppressor - Y-Zip
PL lockdown - Revenger
PL fugetive - Defenders
PL blockade - Y-Zip or Revenger
PL switchblade - Wasper

Dot Evo works on wet or dusty tracks and every track condition.
Wasper is like a Hole Shot/Buck Shot.
I-Blocks are amazing on dusty blue grooves.
X-Cross is like a Bow Tie.

The rubber wears like iron and the SS compound is close to a M3 PL and if sauced with PB Blaster, feels like a M4. The 5 rib inserts are like Dirt Techs so they don't break down fast like PL foams do.

Thanks.

There is no chart, but traction level is more important than temps. Use SS for low grip, Soft for high grip, and Medium for extreme/abrasive grip levels.

No truggy tires in the ebay store?
bummer about the steep shipping prices. I like to support the new guys, but when they cost a bunch more due to shipping, it is hard to.
I found that sweep also have steep slipping prices too ($45us to Canada) which makes them very expensive. I don't want to throw money at proline, but i can't justify spending $45 on shipping for a set of James/Sweep.

No idea than. I spoke to them awhile ago and they were keen to continue stocking them. Other than that you will need to get them from the states.

alright ordered a few sets to try out here. the July 4th sale is a good one so figured why not.

Did they fix the issue with the hole drilling in the tires, basically, not being there for premounts?

Yes and no. They are all supposed to be punched at the factory, but just like with every factory in Asia, sometimes they forget and make mistakes. But so far every set I have used for the last 3 months have had holes in them. The simple thing to do is just check for holes before using and punch if needed.

dialed check the ones i ordered and confirmed they were punched, nice touch! Also shipped them quick.

From what I can tell the SS compound is nice and soft. I may order some of the regular softs to have on hand.

Excited to try these out!

Default James Tire Track Conditions

Ok so trying to put this together. What's the general consensus of tire to use regarding track condition? I'm just going to assume all tires would be in SS compound

Tire Track Condition
Wasper
Defender
I -Block
Dot Evo
Y-Zip
Revenger
Super Cross

Picked up in SS compound the Dot Evo, Revenger, and Defender based on some reading here.

Really liked the Revenger for our conditions, went from skating when trying to break last race with a variety of my AKA and proline tires to actually being able to make the turn.

Went with premounts, and they worked quite well. Also wear after a 20 minute main in Nitro buggy was very little for a soft compound (Defenders) and same on the revengers in 1/8 E buggy from a 10 minute main. very happy with the tires, may try the I-Block next and possibly some soft compound tires.

so the Pentangle Truggy tires, good for loamy? good for dusty but eventually grooves up?

I run James on my eBuggy and love them!

Pentangle's are working for me on just about every condition on a smooth prepped track from watered (light fluff on the edges) to dry/dusty as well as grooved up... they also wear a lot longer when compared to ProLine Electroshot and Buckshot, I get comparable lap times with the M3 compounds from ProLine too, some days the M3's might run a pinch faster and other days (depending on temps) the James Soft compound will run faster. No such thing as 1 compound that works perfect in ALL temps.

Thanks!

I think I'm going to pick up a pair to run at Mikes when I start racing this eTruggy :-)
