For what it's worth, Tim Long told me the guys have been running their 7 setups on the 7R - piston size/holes, shock oils, springs, diffs, etc. and going up in the rear diff 1K to start with. He says the car is very similar to the 7, but better in rough sections, has more steering and rotates quicker. That's why they go up in rear diff fluid. I just got mine and will start the build this weekend. First race next weekend.

Ran mine today, at first was a bit loose in the rear, after a few tanks it started to come on, definable not as loose as the 7 when new. I ended up changing to my 7 setup, the 7r setup is not to far off from my base setup, changed front springs to 9.0, changed front lower pills to up position and rear upper arm to outer hole on hub and bottom hole on lower arm outer pin. After about 10 tanks it was getting pretty dialed, rotates a lot better than the 7, more turn in, seems to have more steering right throughout with everything being the same from the 7. Pretty happy sofar but still more testing to do, very consistent to drive, definite improvement.
