+1 So am I in the right range of engine with the 4 ports, 3.5cc, and .21? Is the plus .21-4 Btt and Keep off .21-4 the same? Also what torque and speed am I looking for on the throttle servo? I use savox 2274sg for steering in my electric so I was going to use the same on this one. Has 377oz of torque @ 7.4v and .08 speed.

That servo will work. Anything over 200oz of torque is OK.

Yes on the engine.

Don't know much about Savox as I have used futaba, airtronics and kopro. All those have been very good. Quality equipment makes this much more enjoyable. As I always knew my stuff was reliable and well prepared.

Is anybody using the shims that loosen or tighten the ring and pinion gears on the new 7R? If so which side did you put them on?

You mean the washer between the diff and diff case?
If so, in my case the diff had a tight fit, and I had no need for them.

I didn't use the shims either , the gears had a perfect mesh . Ive just thought of another build tip,when you build the servo arm up put a small blob of shoe goo on the end of the tiny bolts that go through the arm . it makes sure it will not come undone when racing , which happened to me once . Also make sure you put the little collets the correct way up or you will find the bottom bolt will rub on your servo. This was covered in the MBX7 thread last year .

If you want a more free drivetrain put both shims on the opposite side to the crown gear.

Yes it fits properly. I would suggest balancing it every time you charge it. It tends to wander more then other lipos i have owned were it needs to be balanced more often then not.
