I just recently got a 7r and would like to know if a losi starter box stock would work for the Mugen without modification ?

You'd more than likely have to adjust the guide posts, but other than that I don't see why it wouldn't work. Most 1/8 offroad bump boxes are very similar.

Make sure the shoes have the small washer under them,or they will hang up..thats only for the aluminum shoes

You may want to translate the 5-6 months to gallons . Someone that races once a month can go 5 months on shoes. Someone who runs every weekend for 5 months will go through a few sets.

You need some 3x12.8mm pins Mugen part#C0270. You can also get the 3x13.8mm for the front/rear cvd's/unis and shave them down 1mm on one end with a dremel.

Hey guys, got my first nitro car last week and have a question. How often do you change the clutch bell bearings? I only ran it two nights and one is starting to sound rough already. Is that pretty normal?

I get about one hour on mine, some guys get a lot more..depends on the clutch.. I notice the stock mugen clutch gets less.. Some 4 shoe clutches last a lot longer.. Also i use $1 bearings, some use better bearings and get a lot more time on them..

I run the el cheapo mr105 bearings for about 1 maybe 1.5 quarts at most then toss them. Even the cheap bearings are pretty dependable as long as you properly shim your clutch bell, but no sense in pushing your luck. A lot of people rave about the TKO radial thrust bearings. Those can go multiple gallons before needing to be changed out but I have yet to try them. I have some sitting in my toolbox but haven't gotten around to them yet.

So pretty much I should just get a sleeve of the cheap bearings and make sure they are fresh before a race day?

Yes, #1 cause of dnf's... Im gonna see if the new mugen 4 shoe clutch last longer..even if you got the best bearings, still good practice to inspect your clutch.. Get a pack of shims too, very important like the others said
