Truggy clutches... What do you run?
I picked up an Xray XT9 and I've run 2 meets with it so far, but I'm having issues with what seems to be my clutch, I pulled a Ninja B02 straight out of my Mugen MBX7 which was running Alloy shoes and 1.0mm springs and seemed to run fine, but as soon as I ran it in the truggy, I couldn't get it too run anywhere as good. It I will lean bog before it decides to do anything, it took literally half hour just playing with the tune to help it out but still nothing. Anyway, swapped out to a set of carbon/plastic shoes on 0.9mm springs and it appears to have have a fixed everything.
Now, if I run my OS XRB in the Same alloy shoe Config but with 1.1mm springs, the clutch engages the second you give the smallest bit of throttle... If I run this Config on the ninja, it just lean bogs again until it gains some sort of momentum to get going. I have a bigger race meet coming up and just trying to sort it out so looking for opinions and what other people run...

I have been using m2c 4 shoe on every truck I have ran for the last 4+ years including my current XT9. I run the 32mm version and depending on the engine as to which springs I run. The shoes last around a gallon of fuel.
You went the wrong way on the springs. Try swapping 1 or 2 springs for 1.1 springs. And all alum shoes. Trucks are too heavy for carbon shows IMO.

Lean bog and a clutch that engages super early sound pretty much the same...
You sure you don't have the shoes in the wrong way? Even if it seemed fine in your buggy, putting it in the truggy could make it engage differently due to the increased load.
Carbon shoes "work better" because they are slipping way more, even if they are also installed backwards. From my experience, carbon shoes installed correctly in a truck will do nothing but slip.
Not implying you are dumb and don't know how to put the shoes in, but it's at least worth double checking if you have any doubt about the correct orientation.
And really, if the shoes are backwards that doesn't really mean it is "wrong" as you can certainly do that if you want an aggressive clutch.

If they are, then get a matched clutch bell and shoes and flywheel... All Stock parts would be best just to eliminate mismatched parts giving you problems,l or at the very least a matched set.
Not all CBs and shoes will work well together. Some CBs are slightly smaller, and there are definitely long and short 3 shoe clutch shoes. I got tired of fighting with all the different parts and just went back to stock 3 shoe clutches, all matched, and always work right together.

My XT9 works well with the stock clutch but it really comes alive with a Werks Racing Pro 4 Shoe Clutch. I run a 34mm light weight.
A heavier clutch spring will let the engine rev up a bit before engaging.

I'm reviving an old Xray XT8 2009 spec. Engine is an RB WS7ii. Currently using the stock xray flywheel with 3 1.71xray shoes and a 13t CB.
I'm looking into getting a new clutch. Was interested in a werks pro clutch. And previous recommendations on this thread said 34mm. I'm just curious what the diffrence between 32mm and 34mm clutches. Are they manufacturer specific. Or do the two sizes react differently ???
I have raced nitro in the past but was a super newb at the time. I ran an OS speed vspec ii. But that motor has a not so admirable past
I have three or 4 pipes. But I heard the RB motors don't like the JP pipes.
I have an OS 2050. And a JP3. And JP4. What to do. What to do

Losi clutch. Buggy set up in truggy and buggy. Just steel flywheel in buggy and aluminum in truggy

Having truggy clutch issues myself. Do many folks check the temp of their clutch bell and if so, what temps make sense?
I run a stock HP D8T and it's hitting 250F running around my yard, bearings are going far too quickly, 6-8 tanks of fuel.
