Questions?? Confusion on the XRAY XB8, XB808 XB9 lineup...

Hi all,
Ok so im on the market for an XRAY buggy, even contemplating purchasing second hand so the bulk of the cash can be spent on a kick a$$ motor.

Now what im confused about is there buggy lineup, now please correct me if im wrong but the line up goes like this?

Xray XB8
Xray XB8 TQ
Xray XB8 EC (European Championship)
Xray 808 (replaced by the 09 etc specs)
Xray 808 2009-2011 spec
Xray XB9 (released in 2012? I assume this as there's an obvious gap in the production year)
Xray XB9 (2013 spec)

Basically i just kept clicking the "replaced by xxx" link http://www.teamxray.com/teamxray/pro...hp?prod_id=926

So the latest model out now is the XB8 2014 spec?

And my last question is a 1st Gen 808 still competitive?

Thanks for the input!

you are dead on. I know a lot of guys really like the new XB8 around texas.

The 808 was a Losi clone. With the right driver any buggy can be competitive.

I'd start with a Xb9 or Xb8.

Don't go as olde as the 808. It's obsolete. Not enough droop, no 16mm shocks, weak pinion gears and bearings.

The Xb9 is pure beef. Shouldn't be any durability problems. Some guys have issues with the servo saver, but I've built 6 (going all the way back to the 808), and they were all fine.

The xb9 is really exponentially better than the 808 I had . If you absolutely must go 808 , the 2011 had the best diffs of the 808 cars. But all the shocks on the 808 were pretty bad. Almost a quarter inch ( maybe more) less stroke than the xb9 shocks .
