Questions?? Will the Arrow .21 gtr drop in a 08-07 T maxx, looking for more power

I have done a bit of reading up on the arrow .21 gtr engine. Seems to have EXCELLENT reviews. Plenty of power, great reliability. My maxx is upgraded with all steel shafts, clutch/spur gears, have some R racing tranny steels on the way. What I have not been able to find is if the block is based on a small or big block bolt patt. I am looking for a drop in like the OS .21 tm is. Can I use the clutch bell/ clutch, ect on this engine ? I am not a total newb, but still have a bit to learn. For the price of these engines, I find it hard to pass up. ( please no need for any neg about this part engine) Just need to know if it drops in, I can go. Thanks alot RCT

John

Is that direct drop in ?? Didn't think the .26 was. The .21 yes.. Heard they are pretty finicky, don't go the distance as far as how long they last.. No personal exp, just what I have seen on the web.. Thanks

It only needs the required mount. I had one and it was a bit tricky to tune at first, but once you get it tuned its pretty stable.

The engine and mount are direct drop in, everything that fits the TRX motor will fit.

Ok, sounds good. So one more ?? The rest of the big block engines should also use the same style big block mounts, the CB and all from the maxx should fit these as well? I got out of the RC stuff about 10 years ago, things have came alot further. LOL Thanks again RCT. For some reason I really want to try that Arrow engine out..

No they wont. The Picco/Orion .21 and .26, the OS .18 and .21 are the only do in motors as of now. They all use a special shorter block, shorter crank, and the Picco/Orion have the stock exhaust manifold bolt on. the OS has a unique header that comes with the motor.

Ahh I see. As for the THS exhaust I have that should work on the picco .21 .26 exhaust port ?? It is the slip fit with the spring retainer. Always learning. And damn I really wanted to give that Arrow a run. Oh well, not trying to break the bank with crazy upgrades to accommodate it.. Guess I will look for the .26 picco or the OS tm ( but they have been going for silly money.. So far this has been the best informative RC site I have been on. Thanks for the friendly welcome..
