Default 4stroke SCT or 1/8 buggy ??????

Would this be something that RC racers would go for?????
Bashers?????

If I had a Kit that included every thing that would allow you to run a
4 stroke glow engine in a short course truck (4wd) or 1/8th buggy/truggy would it sell???

For Example:

a YS .70 4 stroke engine with proper gearing to make it run with 2-trokes in it's class.
Upper deck... including the gas tank, servo support, battery, radio tray ect...
Cooling solution.... fan ect.... that kept the heat in check....

OR>>>> Substitute a China .70 4stroke engine...(wouldn't be crank super charged like a YS engine) but would be 1/4 the cost....

OR perhaps a even smaller engine..?? I think OS used a .40 sized 4 stroke??

If a 2-speed gearing was nec. to run with 2 strokes then it would be included in the kit............................................... .............

WOULD YOU BUY iT????????????????????????????????????????

The 4 strokes you listed would be very heavy. Even with 2 speed tranny, I doubt the performance would be there. Top RPM for these engines is around 11k. Probably need a 4 speed tranny. Best to wait for the Losi Dynamite .31 gas engine (29k max RPM) to be sold separately and go from there.

Saito 4 strokes are really lightweight and reasonably priced. The Chinese engine might be a better choice until you get your prototype down path.

Giant aluminum cooling head? Is that possible? 4strokes have been used in stadium trucks without cooling problems.

Buggy or truggy. They can handle a ton of extra weight. (Electric ones are often a full pound heavier)

Thinking back when OS had the .40 size buggy/ truck engine...
That is quite smaller than a .70 ...
Having the engine sideways could help with high CG.
Perhaps, a purpose built buggy for a 4 stroke ?
Funny, I don't remember anyone making clutch bells to fit the larger 4 stroke or for the .20 size either that OS had out.
Would a 4 stroke class be out of the question ?
Wouldn't people Bette concerned about racing more than ( it isn't as fast as a 2stroke)???
Would it only be successful if it could go head to head with the current 1/8th buggy??
Has anyone REALLY given it a go????????
